New invoicing/quotes - Allow figures with commas in price and amount fields
The new invoicing/quotes is a terrible downgrade for the price fields. It is incredibly strict with regard to numbers that can be pasted. Generally for prices, we are copy and pasting from a spreadsheet or another database. These will commonly have a comma for thousands and a dollar sign. The new quotes/invoices requires these to be stripped out and numbers entered strictly like this > 1111.00. It's a major annoyance and time waster.

Hi everyone, thanks for contributing and feeding back on this idea. We appreciate the needs in being able to quickly enter data into your invoices and are continuing to build on new invoicing experience.
With a recent update we've released what you're asking here, and you can now copy and paste numbers that include commas (,), and currency symbols such as $ or £.

I can't use the new invoicing until I can paste in values with commas. Major oversight.

I hate the new invoicing. It’s terrible. It looks clunky more like a 1990s mainframe than a slick modern cloud based application. Sure there may be some usability improvements but to REMOVE features in an “upgrade” is crazy.

Xero Please this comma separator issue is a real problem for us. We are paying monthly for your product and its being left with this ongoing issue. We will be looking into moving over to freeagent if this doesn't get resolved very soon...

When are we getting the comma separator for thousands please?
This is the most ridiculous omission I have seen from an accouting and invoicing package!!
My customers get confused when large numbers are involved and it creates ambiguity. Mistakes are made!, commercials ones, which are the worst! -

I'm not sure why Xero are treating this like a "feature" when its clearly a bug.
Being able to paste numbers in a variety of common formats is just basic functionality for an accounting product. The fact that this functionality existed and worked great in the "classic" invoicing but doesn't in the new invoicing causes one to wonder why Xero is building new products that make the user experience worse.

the old invoice version allowed pasting into the quantity and price cells from other formats in Excel etc. (e.g. copying "$1,245.45" and xero would automatically recognise it as "1245.45"). However new invoicing setup doesn't allow this, has to be perfect format to paste it in.
frustrating if your excel sheet etc. is formatted a particular way and it can't be pasted directly into xero. -

Has anything come of this yet? A simple comma i would think is a no brainer to most??
Sometimes i think these comment go unread as nothing ever happens -

It's really looked an unprofessional way of presentation by removing comma for the quote.
(Potential) customers are definitely found difficulty in the numbers. Imaginating such figure for example of 1875065.00, I believe anyone need to count the whole digital place to realize the actual amount. -

Why hasn't this been improved as yet? This is ridiculous, so many complaints and such a simple issue cannot be resolved.

+1 to this! Really annoying to have to go into a PDF export to add commas. Please allow this directly from Xero.

Yoohoo! Xero developers! Are you there? This has gotta be a simple fix!
Is there some sort of licensing agreement needed to use commas?
Should we users start a Go Fund Me campaign?

I could not add comma separator which is very critical for us to issue the quotation. This is very simple bug. Do you guys need to take years to do it?

I thought it was an issue with my template.
Seriously Xero! Why is this even an idea that the users need to vote on? This is crazy. -

It is frustrating how such a simple feature has not been fixed by Xero yet.

Definitely need the comma separators in quotes. It doesn't make sense to have it showing in the invoices but not the quotes. Clearly this must have been an oversight. It looks unprofessional and makes it harder to read for clients, especially when you are juggling larger amounts all the time.

Please add commas for the quote same as in an invoice. Thanks!

This is CRITICAL. It is completely inadequate only to have the emailed copy display correctly.
Our business model requires separate quotes for product and subscription-based service. THEN a third quote is presented by an independent tradesperson for installation. Our clients need all three in order to consider the project.
Emailing all three separately increases the risk of them misplacing one and forgetting to include it in their AGM/EGM.It is NOT ok that the Print function produces a PDF sans commas. From a recipeint's perspective, which quote are they more likely to accept? One they can read and understand, or one where they have to make an effort to distinguish the value of the quote?
Xero should be aware that this oversight is costing clients - either in lost proposals or in working around this fundamental oversight.
Please, please address this soon.
