Invoice - Prefix in Date Format YYYYMMDD-01
Invoices - Prefix in Date Format
It would be great we could choose an invoice prefix in a date format that automatically updates each day. For example 20231123-01, 20231124-01 02 03 etc.
I track my invoices by the date in which I send them so this feature would save me alot of time instead of having to manually update the date in the invoice prefix each day.

Xero App - Show Product & Services on mobile app
On the Xero mobile app, it would be great to be able to search Products & Services. If a customer wants a price on an inventory item, I have to create an invoice or quote, then add an item to see a price. A Product & Services link off the Dashboard would be very helpful.

Bank Reconciliation - Rank the best banks for reconciliation
Make the banks (like American Express) see how they need to fix their systems. It's not your fault transactions don't match up. The banks need to improve their data.

Invoices - Add "Yesterday" to date selection
Thank you for the 'Today - tomorrow' options in date selections but we would really benefit, and use regularly, a 'Yesterday' option given we often Invoice customers 'after' they have collected goods etc.

NZ GST - Export return with heading 'GST return' + period of the return
GST Return Export
It is annoying that the new GST return layout does not export the essential fact that it is a GST return and the period. The new GST return now just exports the business name and the end of period date.
It needs to have the words "GST Return" or similar.

Navigation - Make invoice lists available as sub menus
When depositing checks, I often search for the customer name or invoice number and deposit ONE CHECK AT A TIME. While this is less efficient than batch deposits, it works fine for our low volume of checks (most customers pay by CC or ACH now). That said, it would be more convenient to navigate to business/invoices/awaiting payment in one step than navigating to invoices and then clicking on the awaiting payment tab in a second step. IOW, you should show the sub-navigation within invoices so you can go to the exact tab you want.

Bank Reconciliation - Show difference between Statement Balance and the balance at the actual bank
Where the Xero bank account balance and the bank's account balance don't match, but the account has been fully reconciled, Xero displays both balances.
It would be good if Xero would also show the difference, ie, how much is the difference between Xero and the bank.

Notes - Ability to bulk add to transactions
It would be incredibly helpful to be able to update multiple notes at once. For example, if I have a list of 300 invoices and a statement has been sent, I want to see that note on each invoice, so that anyone going into that account can see the last action. So for example, I want to add the note 'Statement sent today requesting payment by 19th April' to all 300 invoices, but I want to be able to select them all and add that note once, not 300 separate times.
It would be so helpful and would save a…

Reports - Accounts display in GL account number order on reports
The ability to have accounts display in GL account number order on reports. It boggles the mind that this is not an option already!
88 votesHi everyone, it'd be good to know if there are there any specific reports that you'd find this particularly helpful in?

Bill Payments - Schedule an email remittance advice for a future bill payment
Can there please be a function to schedule an email remittance advice at the same time as scheduling a future bill payment. I schedule all bill payments throughout the month but have to record which dates I am scheduling different bills to paid in my calendar so I can remember to send a remittance advice on that day. Would be much more time efficient if could schedule a remittance advice to be automatically sent the same day the payment is made / bill is paid.

Aged receivables - Add tax columns
Reports - Aged Receivables: I would like to be able to include the VAT rate/VAT rate name as a column in the aged receivables detailed report to avoid manually checking each invoice in the list
1 voteNot possible with the aged reports, but perhaps the Receivable Invoice Detail report could be just as useful, Luke?
You'll find you can add the tax columns you're after, and there's lots of flexibility to set this report up in the way you need to only view certain transactions (such as those awaiting payment)

Reconciliation | Bank Rules - show account
While in Dashboard and in a bank account, if I have a bank rule being used and you see it on the right with the vendors name, please add the gl acct in that same box so I can look at each gl account before I hit OK and save. Some vendors are used with different expenses so not seeing the particular gl acct makes me do extra steps by click on details and checking there.

Receivable Invoice Summary Report - Group by Contact group
We recently converted from Quickbooks Desktop and are trying to reproduce a "Sales by Customer" Report that sorts descending by gross invoice amount but groups the contacts within the contact group together. In Xero, I cannot figure out a way to accomplish this.

Bills to Pay - Ability to filter by Contact Group
Xero is very limited by only allowing 200 invoices to show on the page on the awaiting payment screen - a filter to exclude some clients based on the client type would be helpful
e.g. creating a client type for direct debit payments would help reduce the number of invoices.62 votes -
Reports - Ability to include Draft bills and invoices in cashflow reports
I would like to visualise how draft bills and invoices affect my cashflow, something which I know is not possible at the moment. This would allow me to predict how multiple open quotes & projects could affect my financing requirements. Could this be added in future?

Bills - Auto update status for future planned payment once paid
Direct Payments - Change of status - Scheduled to Paid
Currently within 'Manage direct payments' the Status doesn't change on future dated payments once they've been paid. ie. Once a scheduled payment is made change the status to PAID.
1 voteThanks for the confirmation, Michael. While it's not something we have direct plans around atm I've slightly updated the title of your idea and we'll keep an eye on the interest for this. If there's any change we'll share this with you, here.

Reports - Ability to add Contact Account Numbers to Account Transaction Reports
I propose adding contact account numbers to account transaction reports in Xero. This enhancement will enable users to easily link and reconcile transactions with specific contacts, even when working with downloaded data in formats like Excel.
By incorporating contact account numbers in account transactions reports, users can streamline transaction reconciliation. This feature simplifies the process of cross-referencing transactions and contacts, particularly when utilising downloaded data outside of Xero.
For instance, users can streamline the process of running annual donation receipts by downloading the "Contacts" and "Account Transactions Report". By linking contact account number, contact names and addresses from the contacts…

Short term cashflow - Ability to edit repeated transactions
Hi
I would like a feature in the short term cash flow where when a repeated manual entry transaction is made that you can edit only one instance like a repeated meeting in outlook.
An example is that i have made a regular Money In transaction yet i cannot remove a single instance when the actual invoice is created and i am overstating incoming revenue.
