Repeating Invoices - Next invoice date as last day of the month
I have set repeating invoices to repeat at the end of every calendar month. This seems to work fine for 30 day months, however, in a 31 day month, most of the invoices automatically redraft on the 30th, and only some on the 31st. The parameters for each recurring invoice template seem to be the same so I can't figure out why this keeps happening. To avoid the extra work to change most of them to the 31st each time, this feature needs to work consistently, and automatically generate draft invoices for the last day of the calendar month, regardless…

Colour Code Chart of Accounts
Would it be possible to add a feature to colour code our chart of accounts - especially expenses? When I am at the petrol station adding a receipt for a fuel purchase, it would be great to scroll down to a colour (with the account number). Another idea would be to have a favourites for expenses - we could add the ones we use most often.

We use AroFlo to create purchase orders and invoices, and send them into Xero via the standard integration. In AroFlo, each line has the correct quantity, unit price, and total.

NZ GST returns - add multiple sorting
Currently, I can only sort by one column. When I click on Account, the transactions are sorted by account name. But when I then click on Contact, the transactions are sorted by contact name, and the account names become unordered. It would be great if I could sort by multiple columns. Xero - Version for Local Government
Hi Xero team,
I’m reaching out from a regional local government in Western Australia. We want to use Xero and appreciate its simplicity and usability. However, we’ve found that Xero’s current design is limiting for local government requirements — particularly in terms of transaction volume, internal controls, audit reporting, governance, and integrated project accounting.
I believe there’s a compelling opportunity for Xero to consider developing a dedicated “Local Government” edition or expansion, especially tailored for smaller regional councils. Improve Payslip layout and design
Payslips look pretty terrible in Xero - we need to be able to change the layout and move YTD figures away from monthly pay figures as very confusing and compared to other payslips its poor. They should look a lot more professional and less confusing. Look at Brightpay payslips - loads better!

Would it be possible to male uploaded files viewable as thumbnails ? this would be easier to recognise the uploaded invoices when attaching

Set the calendar to Sunday to Saturday
Set the calendar to Sunday to Saturday for everything, including Invoices. - Xero recently changed the Calendar for only the invoices. The week day now starts on Monday. I was informed this change was intentional and is currently not going to be changed back. Credit Notes, Recurring payments, quotes, bills, reports, literally everything else has the week starting on Sunday. This is very cumbersome for our business. My staff are constantly putting the wrong date on invoices. We operate at very high speeds because we have a lot of customers come in at a time, and a lot to do…

Notification email when W9 request is completed by vendor
When we send a W9 request to a vendor via Xero the only way we have to know if they have completed the W9 request is by logging back into Xero and manually navigating to that vendor to check in on it.
It would be great if admins/bookkeepers could receive a notification when the vendor completes the W9 request.
Having that email notification of a vendor completing a w9 request would also enable us to trigger other automations.

Option to set multiple contacts on a supplier profile for difference purposes.
For example, 1 contact to send/submit the sales invoice and a different contact(s) to receive the automated reminders.
depending on the supplier's payment process, the email address to submit the invoice might be an automated inbox (unmanned) or a different department from the account payable team which needs to approve the invoice first.

Feedback: Missing Balance Sheet View in Xero Mobile App
Hi Xero Team,
I’m really disappointed to discover that the Xero Mobile App doesn’t provide any way to view the Balance Sheet - a core financial statement that forms half of any set of accounts and is the backbone of understanding a business’s position.
As a property developer, tracking CAPEX spends per project is critical, and not having quick access to this information on the go is a significant limitation. Even a simple dashboard or quick-glance view in the app would make a huge difference for users like me who rely on Xero to manage their businesses efficiently.

id love to be able to edit the reference field from the invoice tab. Also the ability to build edit the reference field from the same tab would be helpful. We use that field to know the category the sale is in. So some of our work is shipped, or its to a specific event.

invoice attachment preview
When emailing invoices with attachments, it would be helpful if we could view attachments, just as a double check.

New invoicing | Send - Find email
With the old Invoice system, the message will correctly prompt the email address for that contact. If I choose instead, to send the message to another contact email first, I simply clear the prompted address and begin to type the intended address and the full address is usually prompted after typing the 1st 3 letters. Is there a way we can make the NEW INVOICES do this? Surely this can be done in the new Invoice Format..???

Create Kits or Group - I often provide a service made up of numeros materials / labour items. I do not want to show the client the detail. Just a Title / Unit Value & Rate. So for example. Installing a new plug socket. I just want to show - "New socket" but the value that is shown comes from Labour / Materials / Mileage / Miscallanious items. All these will sit in a Kit Group. The Kit name will be New Socket, but the cost and retail price of the kit will come from the build up of Labour…

Include payment link on pro-forma invoices
We send pro-forma invoices to customers who then wish to pay by credit card. It would be extremely helpful if they could click a link and pay by stripe as you can on an approved invoice.

AU Payroll - Add additional Payroll employee for a charge
Please allow adding on an extra employee for payroll in Australia, as is possible in the UK.
The Ignite plan is enough for most small businesses and sole traders, but the jump in price just to add an extra employee means paying more than double, which is cost prohibitive.

New invoicing - Searching items by start of field
New Invoicing - Type in Item - please change back to only searching start of field, as per old invoicing.
Now that typing in the Item field in the new invoicing brings up every item with that word or part word in anywhere, we either need to learn all the codes, or make sure our items all contain totally different words. It takes ages to find the item required.19 votes
