Xero Files - Ability to restore deleted files
A 'Deleted' folder in Files that captures deleted files.
Once I have uploaded a receipt to the files folder, I always dispose of the original.
If you accidentally attach it too, and then delete it from the transaction, it is gone forever. You have no ability to reload it from the files folder.
The original uploaded file is gone, so you have to source another copy of the receipt from the supplier.
Surely this deleted uploaded file has gone somewhere?
Can we have it directed to a folder?

Files - Automatic transaction creation for uploaded files
After uploading or emailing files to Xero, have it perform some sort of OCR and create a transaction, or spend money or something. It's almost like opening a beer and not drinking it. Please Xero at least 'take a sip'. Just left MYOB ofter 10 years, this is automatic in MYOB! I think the idea here is to make the computers do more work and we do less......right?

As you may be aware we have Xero Expenses that has a capture element that will read your receipts that are uploaded to transcribe into the expense claim receipt, alternatively there is the ability to email to bills to capture and create a draft bill in your organisation, and we also have a new feature in bills that'll be rolled out to everyone soon where you can upload a file directly from your device to create a draft bill using the detail of your upload.

Bills to pay: Generate batch payment files for credit card accounts
Create ABA file for non bank account, eg Credit Cards.
With an increate of payment options and portals offering payments through credit card, it could be reasonable to have an aba file created for other form of payment. Thanks9 votes -

Quotes - Don't highlight all text when selecting a field
There is a weird issue when entering in text in the 'Descripton' box in a Quote.
Once the text is entered if you then leave the description box and then click back into it, all the text in that field is highlighted.
This is a little problem when you want to delete one character as it deletes the whole text.
If you Control V the text back....it hasn't copied the text to put it back in.
So, you lose all the text entered.I understand you can click a few times to stop it highlighting the whole text.

Repeating Invoices list - View total amount
Hi
On the repeating invoices tab, can we please have the total amount showing of repeating monthly invoices.. Just as it shows the awaiting invoices value on that tab.
This will help business keep an eye on their recurring value income.

UK Payroll - Individual Payslip PDF file name should default to the person's name
When downloading the individual payslip it would be nice if the PDF would say the persons name rather than the default filename of Payslip (1) etc

Reporting - Link Account Transaction Report to Total Lines on Balance Sheet and P&L
Add the ability to open an account transaction report by clicking on the number in a total line of the balance sheet or P&L. The linked account transaction report would contain the account transactions for all accounts that were being totaled.

Billable Expenses - Batch assign to customer
I often have 30 or so bank transactions (both credit and debit) that I need to on-bill/on-credit to a customer. The process described in https://central.xero.com/s/article/Add-a-billable-expense-to-an-invoice requires multiple clicks per transaction and does not work for credits.
In addition, there is no indication in the bank transaction list that the entry has been assigned to a customer as a cross-check.

Xero Accounting app - Assign billable expense to Project when creating a transaction
I would really like to be able to allocate my expenses to a project within the app.
If I add a receipt via the app, (which for me is the most efficient way to add expenses) I then have to go online, find the transaction, edit it and resave it, in order to sign it to a project. This is frustratingly inefficient and doubles the time it takes to input a purchase!

Xero Accounting app - Use the default tax rates from account codes on invoices
In the Xero App, you have to select a tax rate. It doesn't auto fill like it does on the desktop version

Bills - Add a remaining balance line
Xero can you please add a Remaining To Allocate line on the bills screen. Most of my bills are split between jobs so a remaining balance to allocate would save so much time having to manually calculate entries. See example attached. Especially when working on the go so a calculator is not required.

Bank Reconciliation - Import statements in CFONB format
Our bank has changed from export of bank statements from OFX to CFONB (see below the new French standard) which is not yet supported by Xero! This has a huge impact on our workflow and time spent on getting our many bank transactions in the system. Can anyone help and vote for this to be upgraded as a format for bank transaction import..

Files - Allow uploads to client organisations
Changes to Xero that have not improved the program
How do I upload files from Xero Files (documents scanned to Xero etc) to my client it no longer allows this - previously you could access either Xerol Files or your own files from your drive - am I missing something ? Also you can no longer just print invoices you have to download them _ why this is a total pain - the joy of Xero was always click and print or email ??? Please put it back many thanks Kate Milne long time user and Xero fan!!!!

Bank Reconciliation - Bank 'statement details' screen covers invoices
There has been an ongoing BUG in Xero, on the bank reconcile screen, when you select more details about the transaction, it covers the invoices. If you have invoice references in the details, you have to close that then select the invoices in the reference. Xero should not cover the invoices, but display the details along the side, see CASE BUG CX0013467462 for full details and screenshot.

While this is not a bug we appreciate this is not ideal and understand why you'd like to be able to view these to items at once. Currently these are two separate features in the Reconcile screen which is why they work in isolation and the More details view can be open and closed while working with Find & Match.
We don't have immediate plans for changing this behaviour, however I've shared with our team and we will let you know if there's any change planned.

Timesheets: Allow non-employees to submit timesheets for reimbursement
I think it would be great to have a submit for approval option in timesheets on the web version just like you can with invoices and bills. I am a third party bookkeeper and therefore Xero Me isn't really an option because, I am not an employee so I can't really use Xero me and if a timesheet is submitted by an employee, it has to be sent to me for approval for editing to ensure it comes through to payroll correctly for processing as an approved timesheet cannot be edited in payroll. Project Reporting - Detailed Invoice Lines
To show the invoice line detail in project reporting rather than a consolidated invoice line.
You have to allocate each individual line on the invoice to a project but on the project report it consolidates to just one line which doesn't make sense when you put the level of detail at the invoice that it doesn't pull through that detail to the project reporting.

41 votesHi community, there was a brief window in which users were able to unintentionally code line items to CIS codes. However, there is more complexity in calculations for CIS and work that's needed to reflect this appropriately.
