AU Tax: Pay the ATO directly from the Activity Statement page
The ability to pay the ATO automatically from Xero would be a really handy feature. Similar to the automatic super payment, this would be a huge time saver.

UK Payroll - Add paye reference number on the payslip
Recommendation for the Payslips: Can Xero add some features on the payslips to include employer PAYE Reference. This is quite an important element, and most of the other payroll software provides this information.
Also, can Xero include some options to include some colour in the payslips, such as changing the grid area to blue colour

UK Payroll - Ability to resubmit previous year of EPS submission
The ability to resubmit a previous years final EPS submission - in order to resubmit a final EPS for 2021-2022 tax year, we had to use HMRC basic tools to claim Employment Allowance, it would be helpful if this could be done in Xero. Doesn't look good for Xero Payroll if the fall back is HMRC Basic Tools, when clients are paying for Xero Payroll

AU Payroll - Report showing one line of detail for every pay run paid
Currently, Employee summary gives a a lone total only for the period entered. A report showing one line of detail for every payrun paid, would be very beneficial when processing government claims, or providing information to employees for Centrelink instead of the the cumbersome Activity report, or multiple payslips.

UK Payroll: Integrated support for Scottish Widows workplace pension
With the payroll linking RTI with HMRC (UK), it would be really helpful if the pensions could do the same, not just with Scottish Widows but more providers.
This would really streamline the whole payroll process and save so much time.

Payroll: 'Save and close' option in draft pay runs
At the moment, inside an individual's payslip/pay run, the button options are 'save', 'save and next' and 'close'.
A button for 'save and close' would be ideal when only one or a few employees (not the whole batch) need to be manually viewed and edited. Instead, we need to click 'save', wait for the page to load again, scroll down and click 'close' to return to the pay run employee list.

AU Payroll - Flag when terminated employees are included in a draft pay run
Could we please have a flag for a terminated employee who has been paid in an unscheduled pay run (but included in the current pay run).
Xero continues to create a standard pay for the terminated employee despite the employee having been terminated.
If the employee was flagged as having been terminated it would prompt the processor to check and potentially eliminate the risk of overpayment.3 votes -

When An employee has a salary Sacrifice an option to directly link it.

UK Payroll - Employee Details export in bulk with correct date format
Purpose: to be able to move payroll from one Xero company to another quickly and without errors.
When exporting employee details from payroll in order to bulk upload them onto another company's payroll, it is not possible to do a bulk export. You have to instead individually download each employee. This is fine if there are only 10-20 employees, but any bigger and you are opening yourself up to missing employees and making mistakes. Any other exports currently available do not give all the information needed to then import directly into a new payroll.

It would be great if Xero could send an alert if a leave request has been submitted for a payroll period that has already been processed?

AU Payroll - Allow HECS / HELP tax deductions for Labour Hires
Prior to the upgrade, if you were a labour hire firm and had contractors who were not a company but used their TFN, you could select the box to allow additional tax deductions for HELP / HECS debts. With the new Phase 2 STP, Xero have confirmed that if you have labour hire using TFN's and they have a hecs debt you cannot check the box and will need to manually calculate the hecs amount to deduct each payrun. Payroll - Long Service Leave for Casual Victorian employees
Requirement to have flexibility in how Long Service Leave is recorded for Victoria for casual employees who have taken multiple periods of parental leave and unpaid leave so small business is able to record number of weeks and entitlement due date and be able to accrue the entitlement of .80 weeks per year of service (and have that show on their pay). At the moment we are unable to show the employee the entitlement in weeks - only hours.
