Invoicing | Billable expense include Item Code and details
Please keep the current feature of adding item codes to billable expenses so that the preset charge out rate and account pulls through. In the new system adding an item code wipes out the billable expense.

Purchase Orders - Approval for amended purchase orders
Since the option is there to amend a PO once it's been approved would it be possible to add a requirement for POs where the value has been increased to have to be re-approved?

Bills - Increase limit on amount of attachments
Would it please be possible to increase the amount of attachments that can be saved against a bill. At the moment it will allow us to attach more that 50 items but when it saves it only saves the first 50 and removes the rest.
I realise there are ways round this eg by attaching an e-mail with multiple items attached within it, but it's then more time consuming when trying to find specific attachments2 votesInteresting to know you're attaching so many files to bills, Jenni. Out of curiosity can you share why you need to attach so many files to each bill? And, is there a # that would suit how many you'd often attach?

UK payroll - Turn off automatic journal posting for payroll
As the automatic journal for payroll is not able to be viewed before posting to accounts, we should have the option to turn off automatic journals. Currently, we have to post, then go back and do another journal to split out ER NI & Pension for different departments. This system is so unflexible.

New invoicing - Increase Transaction lines in invoices
Currently one can only post 50 lines in an invoice. It should be unlimited as some clients have at least 200 lines or more depending on their line of business.

Reporting - Allow Standard users to publish reports
Provide an option to allow standard users to publish bank reconciliation reports, but not all reports.
As a Xero Advisor, I don't always perform all of the accounting functions for my clients. For some clients we mutually prefer to have them perform the bank reconciliation process each month. This is a standard internal control that isn't always outsourced. Requiring publishing bank reconciliation reports at the Advisor level user seems overkill and limits how advisors can manage levels of service assumed by the advisor and their clients.

Bank Reconciliation - Search by Tracking category in Find and Match
Add tracking categories to the find and match function on the bank reconciliation screen. this would make matching payments to invoices easier for my clients as they have payments taken via DD per branch

Bills Preview - Use cursor arrow keys to cycle through bills
When previewing bills in 'awaiting payment' or 'awaiting approval' there used to be up and down arrows to cycle from one bill to the next or previous. The arrows have been removed from the interface with no plans to bring them back.
Previously, we could review the account and GST coding of each bill, as well as having the attached invoice open to the right, including the abillity to review the Xero ocntact bank details by clicking on the contact name. Now, without the abiity to cycle between bills easily, it means we need to close each bill before clicking…

Trial balance - Compare Tracking
Trial Balance new report: Be able to run a report by tracking category. At the moment there is only an option to filter but if you have many tracking units you end up running a multiple reports and need to combine them all. Really time consuming.
My proposal attached - with such report you could do any analysis you want!

Allow us to select which Tax Codes to display in report (default All)
Show the tax code in each row rather than as a report subheader. Useful when there are lots of records for some tax codes

Bank | Reconcile period - Ability to delete draft period
Thanks for adding this feature. I'm trying it and I noticed that if you copy and paste a value with a $ in it, it will not paste properly. Sometimes when you copy paste opening or closing balances from PDF it copies including the dollar sign.
Please allow to paste the value with the $ in it.
Also, there doesnt seem to be any way of deleting a draft period. Please consider adding a small garbage bin icon in the period list and inside the period.

I know you originally shared your comment on this idea however I've just turned your comment into a new idea, so we can separately gauge interest in being able to delete a draft period. We're staying close to the feedback we're receiving so we'll share if there's any plans made around this with you here.

Sales Invoices - Import with Paid status and Date
Sales Invoice - Bulk create Sales Invoices is possible with the import of the csv file, however, the invoices entered is not marked as paid, so we either mark them all paid on one especific date (bulk payment) or go in each one of them and enter the payment...
Going in each one is impratical, and bulk paying all, lets say, at the end of the month is ok, but not right.
We would love to create and mark the invoice as paid in one go, just like with the import precoded bank transactions...

Reports & Invoices - Display ampersand (&) correctly
Many of my clients are partnerships and trade using the partners initials e.g. J & J Doe but on their reports it displays as %26 and on emails that they are sending with sales invoices, it displays as "& amp;" meaning that when I save reports or they send their invoices, this has to be changed. Having worked in a software house previously, I know that this is a programming issue and one that should have a relatively simple fix so can you please look at this.

Aged Turnover report for both Suppliers and Customers
The delivered response to my previous idea was no correct. The aged summary/detail reports only show what is outstanding.
The report I am requesting is to show the turnover, monthly across 12 months so that we can see what we have spent with a supplier each month for that year, but also what a customer has spent with us.6 votesAppreciate you creating a new idea to confirm what was missing within Xero's reports that you'd like to see, Les. Invoicing - Create a Credit Note from a Paid invoice
We raise an invoice to a client.
They pay it.
Then for some reason, something changes.
We need to raise a credit note against that invoice!I know I can create a new one from scratch but I want the history with this particular invoice and all the other details that I have already typed into it.
What I DON'T want - is to delete the payment, create the credit note, delete the allocation of the credit to the invoice, then reapply the original payment.

Having done a lot of exploration into this area our team have a good handle on the needs to solve this, however we want to be honest that development will be some time away with the team currently focused on improving bills list views and updating add/edit bill pages. Chart of Accounts - Increase "Bank Account Number" Limit
Currently the account number is limited to 20 characters.
A International Bank Account Number (IBAN) is the standard for bank account numbers in Europe. I can be as much as 34 characters long.
Please extend the length of the Bank Account Number to 34 characters.

Batch Payments - Option to lock bank account numbers
I would like to be able to choose to lock the Bank Account field in the Batch Payments screen where you can change/add bank account numbers. Making the user add the bank account number into the contact screen and the redo the batch payment so it draws that information from there - and any changes from here are notified to the Contact Bank Acc Admin.
