Please can this be set for POs and invoices to be paid?

Can we have a feature added that auto-notifies "Invoice Only" Users that there are bills or invoices submitted for approval, so they know when they need to log in to approve something. It would be nice to be able to choose either an app notification or an email notification (as some users may not use the app)

Please can we have this feature added. It's 2024, notifications are available on every app and software program ... Except for Xero. A notification via the app would be fantastic, it can be approved on the go.

This would be a fantastic feature so that items awaiting approval, such as invoices, are not missed; currently, there are no warnings or notifications from this. It would be great if you could specify which user this is meant to go to or if it show up on the dashboard when you log in as a notification.

I support this idea so long as each invoice can be approved by a relevant person, but surprised it is not a standard start up function.

When you create a draft PO - there should be an option to send an email to the person approving the PO to notify them to approve instead of now having the approver to have to sign in via the website and then find PO to approve. This would be way faster as they would just recieve an e-mail with a link to click and then review and approve the PO

This seems important to notify that bills are waiting approval.

Was just googling how to do this and then found this thread and realised it’s not a feature yet but one that has been demanded for so long and would be so basic to implement???

I would like to throw my support towards this one also. I'm baffled this is not already a feature.

We can only assume there's a commercial reason for you not to add this feature, as this, like so many other obvious 'common-sense' and technically relatively easy features to add, are not. It's such a shame as you are building a lot of brand resentment over time because of this. There must be a middle ground you can think of to bring a loyal (but increasingly frustrated) customer base a host of must-have features without causing political issues amongst your app community, or shooting yourselves in the foot re any other commercial internests/apps you might benefit from?

What about a Premium Features Bundle Add-On or something? People would be happy to pay an extra little something for a raft of misc features, or even a nominal fee for each small add on, such as:

- Notifications for things such as invoice status changes
- The ability to forward attachments in for automated recurring bills and have them paired up.

Currently it's giving lots of customers the impression that you're not actually a leading tech company when so many simple features are disregarded at the expense of user experience and efficiency – it's costing people a lot of money and it needn't.

Rant over, but it's in everyone's interestests to take a hold of this as the Xero brand reputation and likelihood of people recommending Xero is diminishing from what I can tell. Which is a shame.

I have just asked the same question, cannot believe it has not been actioned and everyone has been asking for over 2 years.

When are they looking at doing this?

I can't believe this is a feature that has been being requested since April 2022 and it still hasn't been rolled out. Is there a timeline for this at all?

Has this function been added yet? We have just started to use the approval process and I need to be able to notify my boss that there are payments waiting approval.

There is presently no equivalent workflow in Xero to handle this externally without paying for API access. Even if it needs user roles which would be difficult to retrofit, reminders could go to the main administrator(s) in Xero indiscriminately and would likely not impact them very much.

Please add this important feature.

It would be extremely useful if the Approver received notifications when items are awaiting approval.
Much time would be saved if this was done automatically, making the process more efficient and streamlined.

Am sure there are plenty of things to approve, but particularly important to me is approval of timesheets - is time critical to make sure done in time for pay run each month. Only a small business, so timesheets are ad hoc and not a given each month
