Notifications - Alert when an invoice has been paid
Ability to have an alert in Xero when an invoice has been paid.
Purpose: Users can easily be reminded. Which will make it easier for them to order the product/stock for their business when they know that they have been paid.

This is a basic and essential feature. Please add this

This was originally requested TEN YEARS AGO. Xero has yet to add this. Instead of putting resources towards changing the UI randomly (invoice/quote pages) Xero needs to add this simple but effective functionality!
Our products are subscription based, so when an invoice is paid it would be EXTREMELY helpful to get a notification so that I know to renew that client's software licenses!!!
Come on XERO, get on this NOW!!!

Why doesnt Xero offer this?

Oh wow, and I thought the absence of notifications was just a setting I had not turned on yet. It's not a core capability? Really?

Quickbooks has this function... please fix this!

I would appreciate the ability to request an alert when an invoice has been paid. Just a simple toggle when creating the invoice. Some folks may want an alert on every invoice, others may want to toggle it on for certain high priority invoices.

We switched from QBO and I'm trying to advocate staying on Xero but not having basic functionality like this is going to lead us to switch back. This is a easy fix and should be prioritized.

Why do we even have to ask for this? This is the most basic feature that Xero should've had sorted way before they even worried about linking to your bank account.
Having clients tell me they have paid and are still waiting on me to acknowledge payment just makes me look unprofessional. I just moved to Xero from Invoice2go, and I'm starting to wonder why. Not to mention having to cop the extra stripe fees, whereas Invoice2go has a simple option to pass ALL stripe fees on to the customer.
Pretty surprised, this stuff is rudimentary.

Our team would very much like this feature as they are not an accounts based team and don't live in Xero day to day it would be exceptionally helpful for them to know when a payment is complete without having to login and try review the list.

Yep this would be very helpful to us. But I can see this feature request is almost 10 years old and has not been added in so I dont feel very hopeful.
In our case, we ship most of our orders through Shopify so invoices are generated automatically. However, some larger businesses rely on direct deposit. So I have to generate an invoice in Xero and constantly monitor its payment status as customers do not always send remittance.
A simple reminder that its paid would allow me to wait for the email then simply add it in for dispatch with our regular orders.

This has two use cases in our business;
1. a lot of our larger jobs require a deposit to be paid befroe starting work so we need to know when invoices are paid.
2. When a client is overdue on their accounts we place a manual freeze on new work and will ot engage in new jobs until the backlog is cleared. In both of these cases we are having to manully check everyday to see if a payment has been made which is a massive waste of resources.

A push notification once an invoice has been paid would help us alot!

This would be really useful for my teams who are waiting for invoices to be paid but don't necessarily have access to the bank accounts data in Xero themselves. Currently i have to manually let them know on a day to day basis that an invoice has been paid. Faff...
Should be easy enough to take the name of the person who raised an invoice and ping them a notification when said invoice is settled?

We just moved to Zoho One who not only notifies you of the payment, but also sends a thankyou email to the client (enabled via settings), Xero seriously needs to get with the times. Go here https://go.zoho.com/Kwk to have a look, free trial and I would recommend the Zoho One platform over the individual platforms as it includes over 40 apps from CRM, Inventory, Marketing, Projects etc. We just signed up and it's simple as to use. We are an Australian business with online store and inventory and do a bit of service work.

We are looking at alternatives also. Bye Xero, how far you've fallen.

This is pathetic. Go check on the Suggestions and Sort by status.
"Working on It" - 5. There are five voted/suggestions being worked on. Most of them have a handful of votes! One idea has literally 1 vote. There are other ideas with 5-6 votes. The 'most popular' idea that is being worked on has 15 votes.
"Delivered" - 24. In the entire history of Xero and their suggestion system, 24 "have been delivered" (including features that were already on their product development roadmap)
I am tired of Xero being incredibly slow to implement features. It's beyond pathetic.
We need to be notified when an Invoice has been paid; how can this NOT be a feature already?
I was just talking to the owner of my company, and have been instructed to start the process of ditching Xero and using something else (likely Quickbooks)
This should be a lesson to Xero as well as potential Xero customers. They read your suggestions, and they reply with fancy phrases and say they'll "run it by the product team". YEARS later, even simple features haven't been implemented.

Why dead silence from Xero moderators...?
Xero are you there??

Todd Robards commented
We have no idea when a customer has paid online and they ring us after a week or so asking when we are going to send their products. Such a simple thing but so important and overlooked by Xero. Looking at going elsewhere.

I also don't understand why this is not already a feature.

Xero Team - this was shared in 2013. We're nearing a DECADE now, how is this not a feature already?!
