I have just been introduced to an App called BeanBox which can be used to "Export" repeating invoices. Its main purpose is as a forecasting tool.
The issue of Importing to Xero still remains though.
A simple Export/Import function for Xero Repeating invoices would be a big improvement to Xero.

Import / Export of repeating invoices would be great feature as i need to move all my repeating invoices over to a new business, now i have to move them one by one very time consuming.

I don't know if it helps anyone but if you highlight all of the repeating invoices then copy onto an Excel sheet then copy to Excel Again it will export the information for you as seen on the screen so you can format the data however you want.

Found this out purely by playing around with the system.

I agree Neil, makes no sense that repeating invoices that use an Inventory Item, don't actually use the pricing for that Inventory item.

Import Export would be fantastic, I still however don't understand why when using products and services, if you change a rate for a Product it does not automatically flow through and update Repeating Invoices. What is the point of a Product/Service code otherwise?

This would be so useful, it takes forever to amend repeating invoices with unit rate increases. Being able to export the repeating invoice data out to CSV then update the rates in CSV format and re-import the CSV in would be far quicker thank having to go in to each and every client.

Does anyone know if Xero have any plans to develop this area of the software?

Scenario's when I have found that a bulk update or CSV export out feature would become useful.

Changing the payment terms / due date of repeatiung invoice
-Updating unit prices - eg when Xero increases there software package prices
-reviewing unit pricing to ensure consistency between all client being billed
-Forecasting and Budgeting information could extracted from a CSV
-Quickway of adding addition items to multiple repeating invoices

I would see this as an excellent addition to the program and would benefit so may business that reley on repeating invoices. Surely other users are experience these simular limitations.

I very much look forward to futher hearing from the xero team and comments from other users.

Wow it's almost been 10 years since this was suggested and still not a thing! Do Xero even read these?? Or are they doo busy 'upgrading' reports/screens that don't need changing!!

Xero - are you waiting for the 10-year anniversary of this request to finally bestow us with this *critical* need?

The ability to "copy to" a repeating invoice would be a first step. In the 9 years since this was first suggested, almost all functions of Xero have been "improved" yet something as simple as this seems to have been ignored. Why are we still waiting?

This is such an important function and I can't believe it has not been implemented since first suggested in 2014, Wow 9 years on and still not implemented.

This would save hours of work for us if it was implemented. I have a security monitoring company that has over 250 repeating invoices that need to be imported into a new Xero file.

They would also need to export and import with placeholders too.

If this isn't something that's included in the MoveMyBooks conversion then this should be something that is a feature instead of having to manually do this. The import option should be removed when you click on the repeating invoice tab so not to confuse people!

Being able to download repeating invoices should be a standard feature - and not having this export function available is simply a huge oversight.

Please make this a feature as it is so needed especially when creating lots of invoices and being able to list them all in a report when needed.

This is just as important as the missing export function in the Bank Account "Bank statements" when wanting to find incorrectly imported bank transactions.

Agreed! This is a very basic function and don't understand why it hasn't in place after long discussion and compliant.

This would be super helpful to be able to import or export repeating invoices. Seems odd that it's been on this Product Ideas since 2014, and still not as an option.

Why has Xero not taken this very basic fundamental into account and actioned it?

Every year we undergo consuming job to go in and update each repeating template with the changes needed.

Its is crucial that Xero add the facility to export, update, then import back.

Come on Xero - please update as a matter of urgency!

My Financial Director just asked for this feature! Did not like that I have a separate spreadsheet for double-checking my preparation.

It's crazy that it can't export a list of recurring invoices. Can export most other things.

This is critical and will save time and reduce billing errors.
