I think this is a good idea, and a similar outcome could be achieved in the Files section if there was just another column where you could insert a description or a note about the file. I have many uploaded files and it's impossible to tell who they are from or what they are for without opening them each time. Once opened, if I could write a short note about it then I wouldn't have to open each file again next time.

I would dearly love to be able to change the name of a file without having to remove it from the bill or invoice and save to file library, only to have to reattach it once it's renamed. Over half the files I receive have generic names, and the other half are rarely sent with names using the same file naming structure as what I've standardised for my clients.

I agree with Angie's comment about being able to name the receipts as they are uploaded into My Xero app while traveling.

In addition we need to be able to name the jpg right in the My Xero app. It cannot be changed unless it is downloaded and then uploaded again. We need this so badly for our business consultants who are uploading receipts while traveling. It goes to the library but is unidentifiable when all the uploaded receipts show "receipt.jpg".

I agree , while I am in the files view screen (opened the file) - I want to be able to rename it (top left). At the moment you have to close the file locate it then select rename to change the name. ie if you have 100 files to rename this is very time consuming.
I realise you can have 2 file documents open, but trying to keep track of what file #23 is when you have a group of jpeg names is problematic and leads to errors.

The ability to rename a saved file from the quick view screen. If you are wanting to save the file by the reference name/number for example you need to write the number down and then return to the file inbox screen and rename there.
