Bank feeds: Yodlee feeds - Allow other users to refresh bank feeds
Allow other users other than the person that sets up a feed ability to refresh the feed.
Purpose: Save time and increase efficiency of being able to perform bank reconciliation

Hi everyone, we understand that it's not ideal when the one person who set up a bank feed is away, causing delays to your reconciliation.
This is a tricky one, and the limitation you're experiencing is due to how certain bank feeds work, when supplied via our third party provider, Yodlee. These feeds are tied to an individual's online banking login credentials. When a bank requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) – like security questions or a one-time code – only the user who originally set up the feed can provide those details to refresh it. This is a security measure required by the bank, not by Xero, and you can read more about this here.
As noted by others here, one option is to have another user deactivate and then reactivate the feed with their own login details. A different approach could be for the bank account holder to arrange a separate online banking login for their accountant or bookkeeper, who can then set up and manage the feed.
Because this functionality is determined by the bank's security requirements for these types of feeds, it isn't something we can change in Xero.
However, we are constantly working to improve our bank connections. We're excited to announce a new partnership with Plaid, which'll bring more reliable, direct API feeds to many of our US customers starting from October 2025. The best long-term solution is for more banks to build direct feeds with Xero. You can play a big part in this! We’ve found the best way forward is for customers like you to contact your bank directly and let them know you’d like them to integrate with Xero. There needs to be clear-cut option for allowing other users within the org. to refresh the feeds without needing to activate the feed under their own login.
Sidenote: I had the ability to refresh feeds for months, lost it yesterday, and now have it back; am waiting for a response from Xero support with an explanation of why this is as I am NOT the user that activated the account and therefore shouldnt actually be allowed to refresh the feed based on what they've said re: MFA.

This is very important. Not all Xero users have a login details to the company's bank account. We have 2 banks, a Standard Bank, where any Xero users even those without a Standard Bank login can Refresh Bank Feed.
But with FNB this is not possible and not conducisve to efficient running of the accounts department especially when the primary users is on leave

It takes multiple attempts daily to get our bank feed updated often involving multiple calls around the office to get the code to log in! It's meant to be convenient but what we have to go through is far from it!

We need to be able to assist our clients with connecting or refreshing bank feeds; additionally some of our clients have multiple users working on their accounts and they would like to be able to refresh vs having to find the only user that can refresh bank feeds.

This is a massive stumbling block when coverage is needed during leave or unplanned absences of team members. To connect the feed is a rather lengthy process and connecting and disconnecting it creates errors and duplicates etc so it not really a work around to quickly switch out that access.

because there are so many issues with bank feeds our clients are getting annoyed that we are constantly requesting they refresh their feeds, they don't want the hassle & would like us to be able to do it. We also have clients who have issues refreshing the feed when they are out of country, which is frequently, and want us to be able to do it to stay current in bookkeeping.

My xero bank feed is 12 hours behind transactions received in my bank. This is unacceptable. I can't give my clients timely service with this inefficiency. Please can this be expedited as a development.

I have a number of transactions missing from bank feed? i wanted to refresh Yodlee however there is no refresh button.....very frustrating!!!
