Contacts - Import with contact Group
To provide the option to import new contact(s) to an existing group.
Purpose: Users can easily put the imported contacts into the existing group once the file is uploaded into Xero.

Yes!
Useful to import a list of customers into a group 'membership invoicing', so we can bulk invoice members of that group, then delete the group membership till next import. -

How sad I cannot import my thousands of new customers directly into a GROUP. If I import directly into Contacts, I have to search for them one by one to add to the Group. BIG WASTE of time.

Please can you add a field for groups on the contact import template. Would be so much easier to add contacts to the correct groups already on the import csv template. Thanks :)

This is extremely important as new batches of contacts are added every year. It is extremely time consuming manually allocating the the pre existing groups.
The current use case we have is:
- Contact details are captured in an external system
- Run a report to produce a csv file with each of the contacts
- Import into zero
At this point we need to manually assign the contacts into the next years group. Some ideas:
* Add an extra column specifying the group or groups to automatically assign to the group. If the group doesn't exist ignore the group
* Add a bulk group function that you can send the file to and have it assign the group to
* Pre or post upload allow you to specify one or more groups to add the uploaded values to.
* Allow you to specify a filter and assign contacts based on that filter, this would allow us to assign all ungrouped contacts to a group. -

I've just moved a client to a new file and they have around 3k contacts, so I do hope you can action this in the near future!

Have 5000+ contact which we will need to manually put into the right groups so extremely frustrating that this is not a feature.
