Customer Statements - Use Contact default to apply template
We are a multi-currency business. We send out invoices in GBP (base currency), EUR and USD. We have 3 bank accounts (GBP, EUR, USD. I therefore had to create separate invoice templates for each currency, to show the correct bank details. I added the relevant invoice theme when setting up a new contact (customer). This works well when raising an invoice. However when manually sending out a statement it does not take the invoice theme from the one chosen on the invoice (= in our case normally default invoice theme on contact). It takes the ‘default template’ = the first one set up in invoice settings which is the GBP template. I am curious why it does not take the template chosen on the invoice. If I forget to check the branding when I send out statements it’s likely that the customer gets the wrong bank information. If the customer pays according to the statement the money is sent to the wrong account, and consequently we incur additional bank charges as the bank converts the money into the currency of the bank account. It would be very usefull if a customer's default invoice template would be used when sending out customer statements

This is exactly the problem that I am having, a fix/update for this would be really useful

Currently, when we send a statement and reminder to our customers, we need to select the default branding theme each time.
Although there is a function that we can set up a default template and branding theme to each customer when making invoice, quote, credit note, and purchase order.
It is very efficient that we can also set up a default template and branding theme to each customer when sending a statement and reminder as well as sending invoice, quote, credit note, and purchase order .

Same here. Seems like a simple thing to do given that it is already implemented for invoices.

It would also be beneficial to have the option to set up a statement template instead of using the default invoice template or manually choosing a personalized statement template every time when sending an email or printing a statement (this process is time-consuming). It is unusual that statements do not have their own dedicated templates and defaulted to Invoice one.

Similar issue for me. I have clients on direct debit and have a direct debit invoice and statement theme which I have selected for each direct debit client.
When I send statements in bulk I need the direct debit clients to get their custom theme and all other clients to get the default theme.

We recently moved to Xero with the understanding that the "branding" would help us speed up this exact process for sending statements. We have multiple banks, with multiple offered payment terms - and currently have 10 different branding themes.
We're disappointed, to say the least! If we hadn't got so far into the setup of Xero, we'd go back to Sage. We can't be sending out statements one-by-one, so I need to put considerable amounts of time to sort out a workaround for a temporary solution.
What's the point of branding themes if they don't apply to everything? Frustrating! -

We have two entities we operate particular services under both entities have their own bank accounts, and some clients use both services. So we created two branding themes to manage this. However, when sending out statements the invoices under that clients name are collated together regardless of the branding theme on the invoices. and the statement displays the bank account number with the branding theme. Its so illogical to not be able to sort the invoices on the statements according to the branding theme. We currently have an incomplete billing process end to end.
It sounds so logical now, but we should be able to pick the statement branding these and xero automatically matches the branding these of the invoices to the statement. That way all the bank details are the consistent from brand, and bank account number to invoice and to statement.
Seems like an easy logical fix to me. to not complete the full invoicing process end to end properly is nonsensicle.

Reiterate what everyone else said. This feels like a simple "fix" that would simply apply the same logic to statements (aka list of invoices) as already applied to invoices

We have a very similar problem of customers paying in to the wrong bank account due to the statements not matching the normal bank details. This s very important as it is causing a lot of extra work!

We have a very similar problem with customers needing to pay into different bank accounts and therefore needing our statements and invoices to reflect the different bank accounts, relying on manually selecting the correct statement branding is prone to human error and can be time consuming and costly,
