Projects - User Options and Permissions
In projects it would be most useful we there were more user permission options. A check box of permissions you could give all staff
1- only have staff see the projects they are assigned to - To give staff privacy on work hours and expenses.
2- give all staff regardless of their permission access to expenses
3- give or withhold what financial information they can and can not see
4- give or limit the options for invoices/quotes
Blanket permissions don't work.

Bump... this should be an easy development for Xero and a great feature for the users. How has this not been enacted on since being raised over 2 years ago??

It's imperative that projects should allow only assigned staff to see project finances (Expense, invoice) instead of blanket standard access, where all staff can get access to all information to all projects.
The blanket permission doesn't protect companies information. As well as other project manager's financials.
Please take priority looking into this.

We need a functionality to limit the number of projects that staff can see in Xero Projects. We have many projects underway and not all staff need to see what is in progress. A simple toggle to control what projects staff can allot time against would be very helpful.

Not ideal. Need to have options for Standard and Admin Project User to only see the info of projects assigned to them.

Would be a huge benefit to have staff/contractors be able to access and work with particular projects and the financial data related only to that project.

This ability would attract companies of a larger size to the Xero Platform.It is hard to think of a business that uses the project/job number function where it is not important that staff are limited to what projects they can view.
We employ a number of contractors we do not want those contractors able to see what other contractors are being paid. -

Our staff are labour only, we do not need to give them access to software. I would like to add their hours to projects myself.

Customising staff permissions would be best. That way everyone is catered for!

We require a Client Permission. All features of Standard but only access to their Project. Other job management systems already offer this. As many builders do cost-plus work this is critical for the client to be able to see the costs and bills.

I agree with this and will only be moving my 18+ entities to Xero if this can happen.
I need some of my staff to have limited access, but I also need staff to have standard access, but to only see projects they have been assigned (not every project, c'mon!) and to also see the profitability tab, but not to be an admin.
Having proper staff user options and permissions should be a standard basic feature built in from the beginning, not a blanket permission that will only work for 40% of businesses...
Please fix within the next couple of months, and only then will I sign up, as I cannot otherwise.

This would be great especially if we could have the ability to give access to a project manager so they can see enough information to manage their team but not seeing every single financial detail.

I agree with this idea. Currently, we're having to duplicate projects so that our employees don't see how many hours we have estimated per task they have been assigned to. Please make it so that we can further filter what each user has access to.
