A delivery note is a common document used in good business practice throughout the world. It is a VITAL document in an inventory and invoicing system and I am struggling to understand why Xero can't add a delivery note option on top of the 2 print pdf options already available (invoice and packing slip).

I don't understand how difficult it is to generate a delivery note as by
a new quote gives option to click to accept
when accepted you we can click to generate invoice
then we click to invoice,
(we have options to copy to a new Quote or Purchase Order, so why can't the delivery note be generated from an invoice ?)

(to me it seems simple that the current template for a packing slip is edited by xero which can generate a new ref no, delivery address space and signature box) and the title PACKING SLIP be amended to DELIVERY NOTE...... please get your IT people to look at this ASAP

the packing slip is not an ideal solution, we have to manually edit this every time and then mistakes can happen because the information is not transferred correctly.

i really wish you luck, i have tried for 10 years now just to get a delivery docket that i can produce from a quote or invoice, i am still hand writing them because Xero keep putting interest else where, like charging us more for little benefit.

Please create a delivery note that will have it's own generated system number.

Please note that packing slips are not an adequate substitute. Delivery notes need a signature box and other slightly different fields. They can be generated before or after the invoice, depending on the business process. The delivery address may be different to the billing address.

Ideally, the customer can sign them digitally and the signed delivery note should be uploaded back into Xero as proof of delivery. Even better if there was an option for the signing to trigger the invoice to be delivered.

Delivery may also take place in more than one batch, so it needs to be possible to split the quote between two or more delivery notes.

We need to include DELIVERY ORDER. The current packing slip does not cover this requirement.

This is critical to us. What we need is a Delivered Button similar to the Paid Button on the invoice screen so that you can easily report if the goods on an invoice have been delivered or not. This would be really cool if it could be done on a Line by Line basis.

Delivery Note is quite important for us. Hopefully Xero will has this function soon.

Delivery order is a must and crucial part but yet Xero unable to prioritise this?
Not only this issue, Xero cannot create bundle as well.
I'm a previous user from Quickbook, all the above is available since day one.

Also the ability to add a different delivery address to the invoice/payment/billing address

Would also like this. But furthermore would be good to classify items as for inclusion or exclusion on a packing slip. E.g. there's no point showing shipping/handling as a packing slip line item, but it's important to include in an invoice. We want to be able to tick/untick invoice items as being included in a packing slip or not.

Agreed, we are currently copying the Xero data into Excel in order to produce out Delivery Notes. I would not think it would be too difficult for Xero to add a template DN option, linked from the quote/invoice page.
