Bank Reconciliation | Reconcile with statement amount at given date

I would like to complete a 'proper' bank reconciliation.
To be able to enter a figure from a bank statement and have xero compare that to the bank figure in xero for the same date. This feature is available in the package with the very annoying tv adverts and in old school sage.

Hey community, 👋 thanks for supporting this idea. I'm popping in to switch it across to delivered!

Our new bank reconciliation reports allow you to manually enter the closing balance of your account for a set date at the top of the report. This then shows in the report as the bank statement ending balance.

    It would have been very helpful when the bank feed had missed a day recently. The ability to initially prepare a reconciliation, then cancel it if it is not correct and retick to identify the problem is useful.
    Bank feed is great when it works, but is not as reliable as paper or accuarately downloaded statements.
    And we all make the occasional mistake.

    Had I known this was not available I would not have considered Xero.
    It is currently not possible to do what is easy in Sage, Qiuickbooks or any historic package.

    It is essential to be able to enter a date, bank statement balance and then reconcile each line to a paper or other source without a live feed or upload.
