UK Payroll: Time off balance - exclude Time off requests for the next year
It'll be good to be able to submit leave requests for the next year without affecting the current year's balance.
Towards the end of the year for the holiday allowance, employees start to plan their time off for the next year.
It'll be good for the system to recognise that the leave request is for the next year and only deduct off the balance once the new year starts and the balance is reset.

I support this idea - it is necessary for employees to book off holidays for the following calendar year without affecting the current year's leave entitlement.
A simple change that would make a big difference!

Would love for this to still be considered to be implemented as staff are thinking they haven't got any holiday left to take if they are booking for the following year. Their holiday balances are updated on January 1st each year

When someone makes a leave request for the following year Xero is currently deducting those days from their current year's leave balance which can result in a negative balance which is not the case. Can we get Xero to ignore those days booked for future years until we go into that future year. Currently this issue does not sort itself out until after the Jan payroll period has finished i.e. 5th Feb and the only work around is for the employee to not book the leave until after the new year or for the leave request not to be approved.

Can we get this actioned ASAP. We pay for a system that should be able to control annual leave balances, but instead we are having to have separate spreadsheets so staff know how much annual leave they have in the current year because when they request for the following year it takes it off their current year which makes no sense what so ever!

I believe this is a change that needs to be implemented ASAP. Employees should be able to request leave for the following year without it affecting their current year balance.

100% agree with you suggestion, Yuko Burge. Will be looking forwrad for Xero to make such changes.
