UK Payroll - Holiday balance on final payslip
When an employee leaves, it would be really useful for Xero to calculate how much leave they have left or have over used and then calculate and add/deduct the value from the final payslip. Currently, I have had to do the calculations manually, and then I add to add the holiday to the payslip and change his departure date to cover the leave period - a bit of a messy fudge.

Absolutely agree with this, I was previously in Australia using Xero Aus and this feature already exists and works brilliantly and super easy to use. The only diff I can think is that in Aus, annual leave does not expire so you can carry it forward for years (apart from sometimes a company asking to pay some out if your bal gets very high), whereas in UK a lot of co's do the "use it or lose it" option, but if Xero UK can reset leave accruals at Jan 1st every year, it seems like this could be added on for us?

I agree. An employee has resigned and their last day is before the end of the month (on the 22nd). They have 5 day's outstanding leave that is due to them, for which we want to pay them for at the end of the month. However, I cannot enter a leave request for the person after the 22nd, as it has to be within their period of employment. This is going to mess up the number of hours they actually worked up to the 22nd, so I'm going to have to manually add those in to their draft payslip before I post the pay run. It would be very useful if Xero calculated the outstanding/over used leave for an employee who is leaving and adds/deducts this from their final payslip

I am new to payroll and I didn't know about having to calculate the holidays manually and let's just say that I haven't made the company l work for look great.
