Invoice - Ability to link an email template to an invoice branding theme
I would like to be link an email template to an Invoice Theme.
I have two slightly different email templates that I want to be able to use for sending invoices depending on which invoice theme I am using.

In addition to this, also being able to link the reply to email address and it's email display name to the branding template and email template. We have two brands and want the replies to go to seperate inboxes. This is not driven by the logged in user but the brand used on the invoice or quote.

We need the ability to link an email template directly to an invoice branding theme. The current system means we have to manually select the email template each time we send an invoice if it's not the default, which is easy to overlook and creates unnecessary friction. This is especially problematic when managing multiple brands or departments with different invoice requirements. Not having this flexibility not only risks inconsistent branding but also costs time and focus during invoicing runs, particularly in bulk.
Imagine if every invoice we send could automatically have the right email to match its branding. No more mistakes, no more repetitive steps—just streamlined, professional communication. It would be a small change with a big payoff in efficiency and accuracy, especially for businesses managing multiple invoice themes and payment setups.
Thanks for considering it.

It's great to be able to create multiple brands or departmental invoice templates, but the covering email should match. Currently, while it is possible to create the matching email templates, they must be selected from the drop-down when emailing, which is easily missed.
An automatically generated invoice (I presume) will just take the first cab off the rank too. Also, the header uses the main registered business name, which is not always very helpful, so it would be useful to be able to specify the business name to use as a heading in each template. (it could be a trading name, so having to use the xero business account name on the covering email can be a bit confusing) -

Just being able to create our own invoice email template would be a massive benefit.

This would be so helpful. eg we have GoCardless invoice and email templates which we've set as the default. However, for those clients who need a different invoice template, every time we send out an invoice, the team have to ensure that they choose a different email template. An unnecessary friction!
If it isn't possible to link the two together, how about at least being able to set a default email template on the customer record in the same way that you can choose the branding theme?

This would be a lifesaver -- Were probably moving off xero because we have 4 different invoice templates that need different email and we batch many invoices together as drafts. We also need to be able to see the invoice template in the draft invoice screen. Taking us hours to resolve each month when we do an invoice run.

Yes, please. This paired with the ability to see which email template and invoicing branding were used to send the invoice under the invoice's History/Audit.
I also like to see the ability to have the option to add a different reply to email address.
Thanks

I have a similar need....
Two business areas, two brandings, one Xero (one bank account)
Even if I use the standard email template for one business area and brand, and set up a customised template for the other business area and brand, my issue is that the "reply to" email is set to the same email.
Is there a way to have the "reply to" email available for change within the branding or template setup? please?

This is essential - we need the covering email to be associated with the invoice template. For example, Direct Debit customers need different notifications in the email instructions and invoice template to customers who pay by other means. Currently you have to remember which customer is which and manually select the email template which is impossible.

I have several different types of Invoice themes and unless you are sending each invoice manually, you cant change the email template.
