Xero: Support for SAF-T and SIE files
SIE files and SAF-T files are international standards for electronic exchange of accounting data and should, as soon as possible, be included in Xero as a digital application.

(I though this features had been lifted before - but didn't get any hit when I searched)

We have just set up a new business in Norway and requires SAF-T export, I don’t understand why Xero developer are not building this into their system. I too will need to use another product.

Are there any updates on this wildly accepted, and demanded, accounting export formats?

  Any update on this issue?
I mean, basically all European companies (if it's not super small) have to be able to provide SAF.-T reports, so why does it take so long? -

Just opened a company in Portugal, I'm going to have to leave Xero because of the lack of this basic export feature.

I would like to see this too. It would potentially allow options such as sending data to customers who enforce mandatory usage of Ariba for sending invoices.

Have also just been informed that as of the 01.01.2025 invoices from EU companies (which one of our companies is) need to be sent in a Structured format (The data can be automatically read from the document into computer systems) as per EN16931. Really need to get an option for this!

It’s mandatory for our business in Portugal to have Saf-t xml reporting so sadly I’ll have to use another system.

This is becoming a great need for many companies and have caused Xero users to turn to other more expensive solutions instead of using Xero.

Xero should support this format so that clients do not have to incur additional costs from external advisors in order to comply with local tax requirements.

Would be a great advancement for SIE reports to be added to Xero.

In Europe there are now several counties were there are mandatory to send tax data in SAF-T format to the tax authorities.
We've solved this temporarily with an external accountant who convert our numbers and send it in correct format. But the conversion have to be done manually and cost extra, so we really hope Xero understand the importance of this feature in Europe (and maybe rest of the world).

Large business that are using automated accounts payable, are starting to request that invoices are sent to them in the cXML format.
It would be great if there was an option to attach a version of the invoice in cXML format when sending an invoice to a customer.

As the popularity of XML reporting is increasing (including EU-wide requirements), it would be highly recommended that Xero offers a possibility e.g. to issue XML-based files for sales invoices, as well as input of XML-based purchase bills. This would also help to reduce time and effort needed to input documents into the system.
