Reconciliation - show the full statement line

The most important information in the statement line is usually at the end of it, the bit that is always hidden. I've been asking for this since 2019. Its a bit frustrating to see that the statement lines in the Reconciliation tab are now showing some kind of machine-generated guess about what the purchase is, when people have been asking for ages for the full statement line to be shown. Can anyone explain why Xero is so reluctant to do this simple thing?

    It would be really helpful if we could resize or expand the description box in the Bank Reconciliation tab.

    Currently, the statement description is truncated, and it’s difficult to read the full transaction details without clicking “More details.” There’s still a lot of unused space on the screen, so allowing the column or box to be adjustable or expandable would make reviewing and reconciling transactions faster and more efficient.

    100%. We are getting so clever with AI, yet the basic things we are making harder for ourselves. This would be such a simple update I would think.
    Bookkeepers/Accounts people are begging you.

    Bank Feed line detail to show full description

    I seem to spend too much time hovering over the description, or clicking on 'more details' in order to see the full description of the bank feed line, as you will see from the screenshot.

    Please could this be an update as I am sure I am not the only user who would benefit from this.

    Hi there,
    For a while now I have noticed that transactions within the bank reconciliation window only show 2 lines (reference & description), therefore you have to click 'more details' to see who the payment is from or to. This is time-consuming. See screenshot attached. Currently there is now way to change this display without clicking 'more delails'. It would be great if product team can revert back to how it use to be.

    Bank Rec Description lines don't show crucial info. Usually the first few words in a bank statement lines are: "faster payment in to the bank 12345678 from ABC Ltd" or something along that line.

    The bank rec module will only show: "Faster payment in..." for example. When the important part is "ABC Ltd". We have to click on more details on each line item which is time consuming and annoying. Can this be fixed please? Description should be fully shown all other info isn't useful enough. Thanks

    Keep "More Details" area open so you don't have to click on it all the time to read the statement detail. If you are a bookkeeper and looking after multiple accounts you don't know what the items are. I feel that if you hover over the information (instead of clicking 'more details' each time) that would save so much time. The classic version of Xero used to show this - why was it removed???
