Projects - Visual Dashboard for Projects overview and at a glance review
XERO Projects could do with a massive update!
Similar to the main dashboard XERO Projects could also do with a dashboard where you can see a quick overview of what is due in the coming weeks, what is overdue, what is assigned to me, or what is assigned to staff I manage. What projects are in draft status and what projects are 'in progress'. Projects with amounts that need to be invoiced and projects where allocated hours to tasks have been exceeded or amounts allocated to estimated expenses have exceeded.
In other words a dashboard that gives a nice visual that shows where all your projects are at and anything alarming is right there to see.
Maybe a calendar view of projects, which could be clinked on to expand to see more dates/days. Or a Gantt Chart view of projects. Just more ways to view where all the projects are at in a short amount of time. Not just one big long list to look through.
Aaah I see, thanks for the clarification, Emma. Understand the difference between what you can get with the existing reports and what you're in need of.
I've shared with our Projects team. We're continuing to add Projects and while there's no plans at present I'll let you know if anything surrounding this is explored we'll share with you here. 🙂

Thank you @Kelly Munro. We do run these reports, but they unfortunately don't achieve what I am after with this idea that I have raised.
The Staff time overview and Project Financials reports display historical values, whereas I am after something to display current and future events. The Project Financials report also becomes obsolete after a period of time due time staff costings changing when pay raises are given out. For some reason, the staff cost rates are not time-stamped, so if last month's labour cost was $90/hr and we made a 20% profit on a job, now if the staff cost is increased to $100/hr when I look back at the same job the profit margin changes even though at that point in time the labour cost was only $90/hr and the 20% is the actual profit from the job the report now would show a smaller profit.
The Staff Time overview is really only helpful to check that everyone is putting their time into projects each week and to the correct project.

Be able to customize the dashboard for projects, per client.
I would like to see, for example, how many estimates/quotes per project the client has, the amount of the expenses linked to the project and billable to the client, the available credit at each step of the project, among others. When I refer to the credit available, I mean that after invoicing some expenses, I will be able to see if the client has enough credit to complete the project and maybe, allocate available credit into an unexpected expense, etc.
