Invoices - Include field for phone number when adding new contact from Invoice
When you invoice a new customer you get the option of "Add address" which is great to quick add their email address and postal address. Can this also include adding the phone number? Currently the only way to add the phone number is to go into contacts and add it that way but to me it is a much more important detail than postal address. If I need to chase up anything to do with the invoice i don't send the customer a letter, i call them so i do need to input their phone number and just want a simpler way of doing that. Have included screenshot of the screen i am referring too.
Hi team, this is now possible. Within new invoicing you'll find we've enhanced the contact card that allows you to add or edit contact details on the fly. From this card you can now add or edit the Contact name, Email, Billing and Delivery address, and Phone number. 🙂

Hello, Everytime we receive an invoice created in xero for a new debtor that does not have any contact email or phone number we have to search for them and find a contact and then load it into our new contact details. Sometimes small businesses don't have websites so finding their phone number and email address can be very time consuming.
I contact every one of those businesses and suggest to them to load an (accounts) email address (for remittances) onto their invoice template and a phone number.
They ALL think that is a great idea and do so and thank me for the suggestion. ......... So why don't Xero make that (contact accounts email) a mandatory field for organisations when loading their information and a phone number would also be good but maybe optional.
