AU Payroll - Option to rehire employees using the same employee record
Xero recommends creating a new, duplicate employee record when a terminated employee returns to the organisation. This can also happen when an employee switches from permanent to casual, as they need to be terminated to pay out annual leave.
Due to HR add-ons that make the issue of setting up a new, duplicate employee in Xero extremely complicated and almost unworkable, I would really like to see an additional workflow in Xero to handle this. When unterminating an employee, I'd like to see Xero asking whether we're doing this to fix something or because we're rehiring the same employee, at which point we'd confirm/update all the usual details on a TFN declaration. I'd like to see Xero submit the relevant information to the ATO, based on what they need under STP Phase 2 as far as the TFN declaration is concerned and also have the ability to have multiple employment start and end dates clearly visible in Xero. The issue of multiple employees in Xero over longer periods of time and multiple bookkeepers is that long service leave is calculated based on one employee record because the bookkeeper isn't even aware that the employee once worked for the organisation at at an earlier point in time.

Payroll
Is there a way that when we end the employment of an employee, and then the employee returns down the track rather than re-enter the details of the employee, is Xero able to automatically create a new file for that employee once we click on the reinstate employee button?
