Contacts - View all transactions history & notes from contact record
Ability to go into the contact/client and see all notes under history and notes also the notes that are made under an invoice for the client. So ALL notes are in one place and users don't need to run a report to check a note. The former Xero layout had this. Invoice notes showed up under history and notes for the client in the old Xero layout before July 2023.

Hi team, we appreciate that with different places in which notes can be added within Xero right now, you'd like one place you can go to view all history related to a contact. Though we don't have plans of surfacing the individual transaction history & notes on a Contacts record, you may find the History & notes report useful for getting a wider lens.
You'll find with the report you can filter, search and view history and notes across all areas of Xero.
We are continuing to watch the engagement and support for this idea, and will share if there are any updates.

I think it would be really beneficial to be able to scroll through invoices whilst in a contact by using forward and back arrows to quickly see the history of all on the invoices entered. It would also be easy to find the most similar invoice that you want to copy.

Add contact group changes to History and Notes report. The History and Notes report should reflect an audit log, which would include any and all changes. It is difficult to discern issues or why something happened when not everything is available in the report.

valid comments and would be helpful - Would be helpful to be able to export the History and Notes report per contact. This would be a useful tool when dealing with Court, debt collection, insurance claims and Company Directors.

This would be SO helpful. having to look all around for a note is crazy. Also, it would be so nice to be able to just view the notes without needing a report. It doesn't help much to make notes only to have to run a report to see them.

Ability to view all notes posted under history is essential and it used to be an option available previously. This is a step backwards and highly recommend a change.

How about a report that shows the history and / or notes for a customer and / or their invoices. It would be really nice if ALL of the history and notes were under the customer so one wouldn't have to go clicking all over the place to find information. It would also be nice to have a report so that one could look and see who received statements or when second copies of invoices were sent to customers without having to look at each invoice.

The previous system was part of our debtor management process and a key part of our operational procedure in noting invoices as apposed to working from the contact notes only.
This improvement requires our whole company to pivot to a new process to ensure we are able to continue to operate compliantly.
Not happy with this update and loss of invoice notes being shown on the main contact notes -

This latest development that has split this info is a huge backward step for credit control. I have also seen other discussions on the same topic. There is no way of viewing invoice overview activity as there was previously.

HISTORY & NOTES in Contacts for invoices/credit and general comments on the account
I and my colleague want to place a suggestion regarding the way notes are displayed on the newly formatted Contact's page (as of 10 August 2023) .
Previously they were in chronological order amongst the transactions and it was easy to see what invoice or credit each note related to - we liked this! We could communicate any action we taken on various documents for each other to see.
Now they are not in amongst the transactions and do not even have a corresponding invoice/credit number next to each note - how are we to know when we look at the list of notes, which invoice/credit it relates to?
Can we have a filter so we can include notes with the transactions and add the corresponding invoice number the note relates to?
Or at least in the newly positioned list of notes - include the invoice/credit number it relates to please.

notes added to an invoice are currently not visible in the client's history and notes. To find the note again, the user must know which invoice it was put against.
Xero Please Do That: All notes related to the client, especially the notes added to an invoice must be visible under the client history and notes. Invoice notes must be visible under the client's history & notes.
