Reporting - Calculate % from invoices for payment report to Contractors
We pay contractors based on sales reports for each contractor. Getting this report is easy. In fact, Xero does that well. However, to get that same report and deduct a % value or any other value to work out what the contractor payment will be. Then being able to save & print & Email that report. Currently, we export to Excel, and whilst that works great, it is fiddly and time consuming. Probably not for everyone, but handy for some.
1 voteTHi Steven 👋, thanks for raising this idea. We appreciate its not straightforward calculating the percentage of invoices paid to contractors, which we know creates extra manual work. Although this is not on our current roadmap, we will monitor this idea for votes and other comments. However, for now, a workaround would continue to be to export the report and use a spreadsheet application to calculate the percentages. 📈

Tracked inventory - Add opening stock when creating new item
When entering a new stock item, there isn't an opening to enter opening stock.
We need to create the item first then enter the quantities in an adjustment tab.
It makes sense to make adjustments to items already created, but surely we should be able enter an opening stock value when creating an item, this would save us a lot of time.2 votesHi, thanks for sharing this idea about setting the opening stock for a tracked item at the same time you add it.
Now it's up to the community to get behind and support your idea with their votes and comments about how this would help them, too.
As for how this is currently done, as well as setting the item's starting Quantity on Hand, there needs to be an accounting record for where the existing Value comes from.
The current process is to add the item(s) as Tracked and then either:
- Importing the opening balances for your tracked items. *This option is only for when you first start using Tracked Inventory in your organisation*.
- Entering an approving a Supplier Bill to record the first purchase of the item.
- Entering an Adjustment (Increase Quantity-type) to move the value from another account (the adjustment account) to the Inventory Asset Account.

Invoice History - Add CC'd Email Addresses for Complete Audit Trail
Ability to cc and bcc when sending emails from xero.
This would be very useful as we have many clients that like to have various other people copied in.

Xero Accounting App - Purchase orders in app search feature for tracking
I create a purchase order through the Xero App
I go to Categorise to an account - on my iPhone it has a search accounts feature, on my colleagues Samsung phone there is no search feature - he has to scroll through all the accounts listed to find the correct accounting code
Will this feature be added to Samsung phones? We also found this was the same when selecting Projects or Plant (tracking categories), on my iPhone I had a search feature, on his Samsung he did not and again would have to scroll through the extensive list we have…

Expenses - Option to submit NIL mileage claim
Allow users to put in mileage claims at a nil rate per mile.
This would allow the invoicing team to pick up mileage to charge to clients that is not claimed by operational staff: for example, where operational staff have a vehicle provided by the company.3 votes -
Purchase Order - Add attachments when copied to bill
When you mark a PO as billed and copy to a draft bill the files attached to the PO don't remain with it and attach to the draft bill. Very annoying that you have to re-save the file and re-attach it to the bill

Xero Projects - Have an option to "mark all untracked expenses as invoiced"
We have a large project with countless numbers of invoices assigned to the project. I would like an option to be able to "mark all untracked expenses as invoiced" so that we can see what has already been invoiced to the client and so that we can work out more accurate profitability figures. At present, each individual invoice needs to be marked off separately and this can take hours to mark them all off, particularly if the project is large.
Xero currently provides an option to "Mark all times as invoiced", so having the option of "Mark all expenses as…4 votes -
Invoice - Preview attachments from send window
When emailing invoices with attachments, it would be helpful if we could view attachments, just as a double check.
At the email stage, we can preview the email and invoice prior to sending, but not the attachment.1 voteThanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you.

Contact – check bank details reminder
Last Paid Date flag for Vendor or Check bank account details alert.
Increasing there is a need to check bank details for Suppliers - to make sure haven't changed. If a Supplier hasn't been used for many months, Xero doesn't prompt the bank details to be checked. We have had cases where the supplier changed owners and bank accounts but not informed us. The bank details weren't checked. it would be useful if we could have an alert or flag that prompts a check after 3 or 6 months.1 voteThanks for sharing this idea – it's a really practical suggestion.
We get how easy it is to miss checking bank details, especially for suppliers you haven’t paid in a while. A quick alert or reminder after 3–6 months of no activity could be a great way to help catch changes (like new ownership or account updates) before a payment goes through.

Expenses - Edit Submitter when awaiting approval
The expense reimbursement function should include an option to change the submitter after the request has been sent for approval, rather than declining the request and re-enter just to be able to update the submitter name in case of 'submitting on behalf'
Additionally, it should allow exporting the entered expenses into an Excel file to verify whether everything has been entered correctly. Currently, exporting is only possible once the request has been approved. This feature is especially important when there are numerous expense lines.
Furthermore, the screen layout feels a bit cramped. Could the input fields be arranged in a…

Repeating Invoices - Use updated inventory Unit Prices on repeating invoice templates
When you update the inventory selling price of an item you expect that this is reflected when a repeated invoice is generated. This is not currently the case. The price is ONLY updated when you edit the repeated invoice. Please have an option box on the repeated invoice that allows inventory price updates on generation. Currently waste hours and hours and make mistakes every time an inventory item changes price. Logged support cases about this for years but trying here now. Huge time saver.

Remittance Advice - View emails sent for batch payments
When looking at the notes of a batch payment, it says "remittance advice emails were sent to 16 suppliers" - but I can't see anywhere that will tell me which 16 suppliers & which email addresses they were sent to. It would be great if I could see that.

Xero Accounting App - Ability to sort quotes order
In app version, when we click omn Quotes then we see 2 options to choose- numer of quotes sent & number of quotes to invoice.
When we click on number of quotes to invoice then we see all the quotes converted to invoice. But they appear as increasing order means oldest quote on top, we should have option to change the order i.e newest quote on top.1 voteThanks for sending through your idea and highlighting what’s important to you.

Xero Accounting app - Sales report table by month and year
I would like to be able to see sales totals on a simple table on the Xero app. I simply wish to see monthly sales totals as well as year totals per selected year. This helps me to get a quick snapshot of how my sales are increasing or decreasing, and also to view sales trends by month.
5 votesThanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Idea's, Domenico. As you may have seen there is the Total Cash In and Out graph on the dashboard of the app. The dark blue bars show the total amount of cash that’s come into your bank account per month, and the light blue bars show the cash that’s gone out.
Appreciate there's no way to show this only based on invoices, or for a year view atm.
We'll monitor and track support your idea receives from the community.

New Invoicing - Feedback
What I like that you added:
* Saving as draft!
* New Due Date drop-down selections (e.g. 14 days)What I do not like:
* No "add another invoice" option after save + print PDF, more clicks now
* When save + print PDF, now opens a new tab that needs closed, more clicks
* Cannot "copy" the invoice line "item" - I usually create many lines that I used to be able to copy & paste the "item", now more clicks
* Too much whitespace and font too large, I want to be able to see the data w/o…14 votesHi everyone, thanks for your feedback on new invoicing. We’re listening carefully to all feedback to make sure new invoicing has the functionality you need, as we prepare for retirement of the classic version.

Quotes / Invoices - Select which lines to copy to a new transaction
When your quote involves different vendors, it would be nice to have the option to create POs with a click of a button for all the vendors but because you can't specify a vendor for each item then at least let us select the line items. Also very important, any additional information that was added to the description during the quote / invoice process should be carried over to the PO.
2 votesThanks for sharing this idea. This partial-copy feature might be used whenever you need to copy a quote or invoice to another transaction, such as another quote or draft invoice.

New invoicing - Option to show/hide fields and adjust their sizing.
New invoicing - option to remove existing columns and adjust their sizing.
You had this option before the latest release, why did you remove it...
I dont want to "Due Date" on the top, nor the "reference", nor the "online payment option"3 votesHi everyone, thanks so much for submitting and supporting this idea. It’s clear from your feedback that having greater control over invoice edit layout, like showing or hiding fields or adjusting the column size, would make a difference on your workflow.
We understand how important this kind of flexibility is, and we aim to support a wide range of businesses. Right now in Xero, there are some options available. You can choose to hide or show certain columns on the invoice layout, such as tracking, discount, and amount. But we know this doesn’t cover everything, and many of you are looking for more customisation.

Stripe - Pass full fee amount to customer
For volume based businesses, we lose money (30c per transaction) on the stripe fee we pay vs what we can pass onto the customer (because there's no option currently to just pass on the full fee, just a %). That % can't legally be higher than what we are charged, and we can't add the 30c fee to the % anywhere in settings. When we're processing 1,000 transactions per month, we lose $300 to fees. For a small business, this isn't justifiable. Most small businesses that have high volumes are low cost, so they rely on volume of sales to…

Xero Accounting App - Add item from Product & Services to Bill
On the Xero mobile app it would make life easier for small entrepreneurs who are always on the go to update products purchased and update their inventory from a receipt that they capture on mobile app. This feature is only available from a desktop computer where persons need login from their computer to enter Bills or expenses for the purchases of inventory products. At the moment this is possible through the Sales invoices. Please make it available through purchases as well

Batch payment - Warning if contact has not be paid in the last year
It would be great to have a warning pop up when creating a batch payment if a supplier has not been paid in ie 1 year. Recently a Supplier was paid however in the 2 years since they were first added into Xero (and no bills paid since) the business was sold and the bank account changed. Additionally if Hubdoc could read bank accounts and a warning pop up if they differ from that in Xero.
