  1. I often take part-payments against customer invoices in Xero. But, when I use the app, the full sales invoice amount appears rather than the remaining balance. The app should show the remaining balance on sales invoices - when viewing the list of unpaid invoices.

Current invoice template (as of 26 July 2023) does not allow to automatically populate the customer's VAT number nor make reference to reverse charge, as is required by Council Directive 2006/112/EC of 28 November 2006 on the common system of value added tax, Section 4 "Content of invoices", Article 226, paragraphs (4) and (11).

    Current template means we need to remember to fit in those details in the services description since there is no way to add a note on the invoice itself.

  3. I want to be able to group/merge multiple expenses being on-billed into one line on an invoice, even if they're not a tracked expense.

    For example, if a contracting company has billed for a fortnight of the contractor's work, but has separated that into two lines, each dealing with one week, on their bill, then the draft that is created when they e-invoice me will have two lines.   4. We need the ability to see how many miles an employee has travelled within the tax year. This is so that we can follow HMRC guidelines in respect of the pence per mile that is paid to the employee. Currently the rules state that up to 10,00 miles can be reimbursed at 45p per mile and thereafter this rate is reduced to 25p per mile.

  5. Statement by Contact - as same contact a bill payment and a customer.
    Statement needed for 'Contact"
    We really need to have statements for Contacts with a running balance. We use the same Contacts for bill payments and also for invoicing, and want to be able to send them a statement.
    We use Xero for several entities and all 3 have this issue.
    Please put this as a priority as it does not look professional sending the contact an account transaction listing - instead of an activity statement by Contact.

  6. Declined quotes to appear in the activity list of a contact - At the moment they do not and the only way to determine if a quote was raised previously is through a search through quotes.

    Since it is an activity linked to a contact, fruitful or not, this should be linked to activity list of the contact.

You have marked the idea at "Profit & Loss - Filter Tracking Report by second tracking category" (https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/45050152-profit-loss-filter-tracking-report-by-second-t) as delivered and closed the comments, but unfortunately it's a terrible implementation, and you could really benefit by hearing comments from your customers on it.

    It allows the user to filter the data, and then to choose the columns it will appear in by selecting tracking category items for columns. However if I want to change the filter criteria I have to undo the column choices, then edit the filter criteria, and then recreate the columns.

  9. Ability to set reminders/notifications to raise next invoice in Xero Projects

    When raising the quote, which details the scheduled dates that the customer will be invoiced, it would be useful if you could set a reminder/notification on the project to tell you when to prepare and send the next invoice out.

  10. As it stands the "template" is largely superficial, whereas a template should be meaningful.

    When I think of invoice templates, I think: unit prices, quantities, etc... much like your "repeated invoices" except the repeated invoices don't include dynamic dates. Monthly billing for a team is a nightmare.

    So either expand the templates to include meaningful features, or add dynamic dates to the repeated invoices. Preferably the second option so I don't have to constantly rebuild invoices for my team.

  11. We are a professional services company and use the quote feature to outline our objectives, scope of work and deliverables for a potential new project. As such, we use the summary window to enter all this information.

    It would be very useful for us to be able to resize the summary window to view a larger portion of the text. Some of our descriptions can run to several paragraphs and as such, the ability to review more text would be incredibly useful.

    I hope this can be implemented with some simple coding.

  12. Option to automatically apply or allocate existing credits to future repeating invoices. When the client receives the invoice, it will be marked as a PAID invoice because the credit has been already applied in Xero. But only if they choose to apply the existing credits instead of a refund.

    Purpose: Saves time in manually creating an invoice to apply for the credits

'Pay Now' shouldn't be displayed on invoices where the customer already has a DD in place as it is confusing, could lead to duplicate payments and cause them to contact us to query whether there is a problem with their DD when they don't need to. Xero say this is because xero can't differentiate customers who already have a DD in place, but they can - there is a flag and this is visible in settings and therefore must be available to developers.

  16. In Repeating Transactions, you have a column width for Reference which is fairly decent, but then the data in that is truncated to the extreme. It takes up less than half the column width??????
    Has it not occurred to your programmers to use the full width of the column and only suffix with ... if it still proves too small to display all the data
