  2. Purchase Order Reporting
    The current work around of using the Outstanding Purchase Orders Summary report lacks a lot of the vital info that's needed to manage Purchase Orders and create accruals at month end. A report that shows all the - coding, tracking codes, dates, who created and who approved, Description, etc and ability to run reports on only those that are not Billed and both with and without detailed lines would be more helpful.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback here. We appreciate there are more details some in the idea here would like to see around reporting of Purchase orders in Xero.

    We wanted to highlight for those in the conversation that it may help - There are Purchase order common formats in the Payable Invoice Detail report that you could use.

    For example, in the All purchase orders detail report, you can add a column to show the account, tracking and any other line item info you need.

    We want to be open that we don't have any plans right now for additional Purchase order reporting, however we'll continue to keep an eye on the idea here and share if there is any news.

  3. Set credit card accounts as liabilities, not assets. We are not a bank, so credit cards are properly liabilities. There should be no reason these accounts should be reported as assets in any circumstance.

    I can't set Account Type for bank accounts unless there is a feed associated with it. Even though, I'm not sure what good that actually does, and we don't have feeds for all our accounts. "Credit Card" is an available account type for bank accounts when they are feed-enabled, so adding credit cards as bank accounts appears to be what Xero intended, and that's what we…

  4. When copying an existing invoice to a new invoice, the reference should not be copied over as well or the user to be given the option to not copy the reference number to the new invoice.

    There are many times, reference number is not updated or removed and then needs to be fixed at a later point.

  5. There's an inconsistency between different parts Xero systems. For example:

    New Invoicing has Autosave.
    New Contacts require us to use the Save button.

    Reports:
    Accounts receivable reports refer to Invoices.
    Accounts Payable reports ALSO refer to Invoices ... Xero terminology for Payables is Bills.

    Is there a reason for these differences and lack of consistency across the Xero platforms?

  6. When transferring money between bank accounts in Xero - it would be good to restrict the user to only making the transfer if there is actually a matching transaction in the other account. As it is currently, the user can make the transfer and then it sits in the unreconciled payments or receipts for a bookkeeper to tidy up later on.

    1. Enable partial sale of assets - allows one to dispose of assets that have been added as one transaction.

    2. Enable bulk sale of assets - allowing one to select all assets involved within a sale to be sold for one purchase price i.e. sale of a fitout of a Hairdresser, over the years they had purchased numerous items and completed numerous renovations.

  8. When you have a large number of Tracking category options and you wish to add another, you have to scroll heavily to get to the bottom of the list each time you wish to add another.
    This is not time efficient. The option to add another tracking category option should be at the top of the page for simplicity and time management of the XERO user

  9. A function within Find and Recode that can split code each transaction by a percentage.

    This could be an additional button next to the Recode button called "Split" which brings up a pop-up window like Recode does.

  10. Xero offers users the ability to select between cash-based accounting and accrual-based accounting for financial reports. However, a major problem is that the inventory sales reports are based only on accrual-based accounting. This means the financial reports and inventory sales reports are never consistent. Please add the ability to run cash-based accounting reports for inventory sales (sales by item, etc.).

  11. Greetings,

    Xero offers an outstanding process for depositing Invoices with Awaiting Payments (pictured below). Our business does not use this feature because invoices are paid immediately.

    Why there is no similar process for Paid Invoices (cash)? It seems of utmost importance.

    I believe numerous businesses would benefit greatly from having this feature for Paid Invoices as it will increase efficiency, accuracy, and allow for more streamlined bookkeeping.

    When you say that the invoices are paid immediately, how are they currently reconciled?

    Just trying to better understand how you envision this flow to help you move more efficiently in Xero.

  13. The Contact Financial Details Reference field used to be populated with the last reference entered for a customer in the Customer Invoice Batch Clearing reference field. I have many customers paying by ACH or Zelle and have the same reference information each week. For my customers that I have had for a long time the reference field is copied from the Contact Financial Details Reference. But for any new Customers this functionality does not work and the field is blank in Batch Clearing. So I have to enter the reference for each blank line on the batch. Please add the…

  14. When reconciling, it would be helpful to see if an attachment has been added, and to preview that attachment if so, rather than having to open the bill and then click on the attachment, then causing to lose the info on the reconciliation page.

  15. I have worked with an accounting system that allows many rows e.g. description, Qty, Price, Account and Tax rate to be copied from Excel (at a go) and pasted to create an invoice, Journal etc. This saves a lot of time.

  18. The recently added filter functionality on bank reconciliation was not what I was hoping for. Rather than filtering bank statement lines I want to be able to filter the transactions that I’m matching to it, by date.

    When reconciling POS device daily receipts I can already filter for transactions with the right description but then I have to tick every transaction for the corresponding day. Then repeat for every day. If I could filter on date I could “select all” and match much more quickly. It’s currently extremely tedious!

  19. It would be great to be able to open & close the sections in the VAT return.
    I might be looking for a specific line in the Expenses for example, but need to scroll though all the sales. A little toggle to drop down or close off would be great!
