Reporting - Customisable Graphs
Recommendation is to add graphs as a report on Xero. Clients can see their turnover an example over a few months which can be sent to them direct from Xero !

Xero analytics is one way of getting more of a visual view of an organisations performance, or alternatively you'll find there are a couple of reports like the Income and Expense by Contact reports that enable you to show a chart of your top 10 customers or suppliers.

History and Notes - Time Range Search Field
In History and Notes, that current 1000 transaction search you have is too restrictive given the limited search fields you have available.
Due to performing more than 1000 specific transactions (e.g., deletions), I can't see the ones performed in the earlier part of the day.
So obviously by being able to isolate a particular time period in any given day (e.g., 9am to 11am), that would solve the issue.
In all honesty, limiting the search to 1000 transactions was ridiculous in the first place. Who came up with that number??!!!

Sales Invoices - Ability to specify a % of invoice held on retention
We would like to indicate a specific percentage of retention money held by our client on our sales invoices to them. This retention is then payable to us after a specific amount of months.
We also need a way to keep track of the total amount of retention held by a client
42 votesHi community, in lieu of having a direct feature for this I wanted to highlight the option shared earlier on in this thread (Thanks Peter!) for those it may help.
As mentioned, currently you could enter a separate line on the invoice, with a negative amount for the retention value, and code this to a 'customer retentions' account in the Balance Sheet. You could also add a comment in the Description field, indicating the cumulative retention value.
The Account Transactions Report can then be used to manage the values being carried forward.
Being open, this isn't something we have planned for development at this time, however we'll continue to gather the interest here, and if there's any changes we'll let you know.

Reporting - Create folders to manage reports (Custom, Published and Archived)
Under Custom Reports
I send out reports to my departments each month, this morning it took 4 hours to add the tracking codes to the new P & L reports (we love the new report and so do our Department Heads).
I was wondering if there is a way of saving each custom report for each individual dept with their tracking within a folder. We have a Junior and Senior Campus and about 45 departments at each. There's no facility to create folders in the Reports Centre for this sort of categorisation atm.

Reports - Improve speed when launching reports
The new reports are significantly slower than the old reports. I was wondering if this has been experienced/ shared by other users? And if Xero were working on improving this?
Appears Xero has gone backwards in terms of efficiency...

Invoices - Select which line items to include when printing a packing slip from an invoice.
The ability to choose what items to include from the invoice on the packing slip. This means I can select not to have freight and set-up charges on the packing slip as they are not actual items being sent to customers.

Invoices - Option to send our own PDF invoices through Xero
We have our own PDF invoices we send our clients and much prefer these over the automatically generated Xero PDF version of invoice. I know we can upload these into Xero when in classic view but are these the PDF invoices sent with Automatic Reminders when selecting "Include the link to the invoice PDF" or is it the standard Xero PDF invoice that is sent? If not can this please be added as we much prefer our own invoices as much detail goes into them and we are not happy with the overall look of Xero PDF's. We have tried…

Accounts Receivable and Payable details reports - Flag manually entered 'expected date' in reports
On the Receivables and Payables Detail report, include a flag that shows when a planned payment date has been manually identified (as opposed to the credit terms due date). Will simplify cashflow forecasting

VAT 201 Report (ZA) - Separate column for invoice number
VAT201 Report (ZA) - A SARS requirement is to have sequential invoice numbers. The invoice numbers are not displayed on the VAT201 report, only the customer reference number, if there is no reference number, then the customer invoice number is displayed. Can we please have a column for the customer invoice number or only have the customer invoice number listed.

Projects - Expense Date to be shown on the invoice
Add an expense date to a project
When you enter expenses under projects, a date is required. We would like that date to appear on the invoices.

Receive Money - Ability to assign to a project
User can allocate a Project from spend monies directly from the bank reconciliations, but cannot allocate received monies to a Project?

Projects - Create Spend Money from a Project expense
When adding a actual expense within a project it should open a spend money transaction in Xero and have the ability to save photo of the receipt as normal spend money. Or alternative within the XERO app be able to select a project when inputing a receipt, the current setup is double handeling because you purchase somthing and you have to enter it in xero then in the project.

Bank Reconciliation - Match payment to more than 50 invoices
I would like to see the limitation of receiving payment on 50 inovices be increased or removed completely. I Have a trucking company that issues hundreds of trip invoices to it's customers and the limit of receiving payment on 50 invoices at a time doesnt work for them.

Reporting - Balance sheet to switch only individual accounts when applying switch rule.
When the Switch rule is set for an account group in Balance Sheet, only individual accounts with negative balances are moved. Please allow option to switch for the whole account group, not individual accounts only.

Reporting - Set 'Working capital with other cash movements' report to be default for the Cash Summary Report
I need to include a Cash Summary report and bank summary report in standard management reports.
I need the Cash Summary report format - working capital with other cash movements. I never use the default report. It includes balance sheet items as expenses and has little meaning for the clients I have viewed this for.
At the moment, this can only be done on an individual client level and laboriously. This is not viable for my office.

Account Transactions report | Batch deposits - Use Payment Reference
In the account transactions report, the reference for batch deposits (of invoices) should be the payment reference.
Currently, the individual invoice numbers are presented for batch deposits when you run account transactions.

The ability to add in work in progress each month so that it shows as turnover in the P&L. This will enable us to produce a true position of the businesses profitability.

Reports - Depreciation schedule report break down by month
from country singapore
- depreciation schedule present by monthly - can show each month depreciation
- inventory xero function - not good for SG country
- export report, GL - kindly include the attached document together when export out. so we don not need save another document in our server. every doc can view via xero software.
- phone apps - xero - not much thing can do. just for upload purpose. not good enuf. at the end we still need use laptop to do the job.
1 voteHi Wendy, thanks for sharing your feedback here. So that other users can understand your idea and vote for it, it's better to keep to one suggestion per product idea. It also helps us accurately gauge interest in specific ideas to share with the right product teams for prioritisation.
We'll leave this idea as "Depreciation schedule report - break down by month" and I've created a new idea for your 3rd point, and added your vote to it.
For points 2 and 4 we need more detail to understand specifically what is lacking in inventory and the phone apps. Would you please be able to see if any other ideas already exist for the features you'd like to see, and vote for them. If they don't already exist, create a new idea per request 😊

Reporting - Subtotals for Balance Sheet areas, without grouping accounts
Subtotals for Balance Sheet Items
At the moment I can only get subtotals on the balance sheet by using the grouping function. Rather than doing this it would be great to subtotal certain parts of the Balance Sheet without creating multiple group headings. eg Fixed Asset accounts & the accumulated depreciation for each asset.1 vote
