Chart of Accounts: Ability to merge accounts
I would like to be able to merge accounts (of the same type, ie expenses) to one account when there was two or more of the same account created.
Example: Say you've converted from another accounting system, and there were sub-accounts that are all the same account - that you want to merge into one account. To be able to merge the accounts - without doing a Find and recode.
Or, the client opened another expense account for something, and one already existed... to be able to merge the two would be a quicker solution instead of find and recode.

I would really benefit from being able to merge the duplicated chart of accounts

I agree - I was just looking at how to do this and seen your post about it. Hopefully they add this feature

Yes, same as you can merge supplier cards you should be able to merge expense accounts

Thanks to different accountants having particular preferences with regards to the names of accounts and their usage, some of my clients now have up to five accounts in the chart of accounts that relate to company income tax - I'd really love to merge the old into the new instead of having to unlock the old data to recode it all into the same account.

To be able to merge same name and type accounts in the chart of accounts. Sometimes when we convert from other accounting programmes - there are numerous accounts that are the same type (i.e., expense) and also the same item (i.e., motor vehicle expenses and/or motor vehicle repairs) To be able to merge this same type of accounts to simplify the chart of accounts and eventually the final P&L or TB or Balance sheet reports.
