Fixed Asset - Ability to register multiple draft assets as one
On Drafts there would be say 10 lines which is actually all for the same asset.
Say I am building a product store. Using 10 different suppliers. Store, Erection, Floor, Building inside etc. I want to map all those together and register as 1 asset when done. This way the auditors see the whole store as one asset. Not 10 lines that I must show them. For instance "Thats the floor in that storage building"

New invoicing - Option to edit Account name
I noticed the new invoicing option seems to be not user-friendly as you can't edit the account name there is no option, and the classic is much better. I wonder why that is?
3 votesHi team, returning to the idea here and rounding back on my last update. Currently it is not possible to edit the Account name or Code of an account from within new invoicing. You'll need to do this by going to the Chart of Accounts screen and updating this, there.
This is not a feature within classic or new invoicing. However, we'll leave the idea open here so we can get continued interest and consider as a possible future enhancement within new invoicing.

Billable Expenses - Batch assign to customer
I often have 30 or so bank transactions (both credit and debit) that I need to on-bill/on-credit to a customer. The process described in https://central.xero.com/s/article/Add-a-billable-expense-to-an-invoice requires multiple clicks per transaction and does not work for credits.
In addition, there is no indication in the bank transaction list that the entry has been assigned to a customer as a cross-check.

GST | Increase backdating of GST returns
Why are we limited to backdating GST Returns in Blue Xero just 12 months.
It's crazy to limit the backdating of GST Returns to 12 months for Advisors. In an ideal world our clients are well behaved and we only need to deal with recent GST Returns. But we often get situations where we need to backdate GST Returns beyond 12 months: ie A client comes to us who has been trading for 2 or more years and not filed any Tax or GST returns - how do we deal with that? Or if we are doing a migration from…

Xero expenses - Ability to export submitted expenses
Currently expense reports are not fit for purpose. You can't even order non-approved expenses by date or export them.
You need to be able to order unapproved expenses by date and by project/customer.
You need to be able to add description and project/customer information into the expense claims report.
Xero is **** at expense management frankly and with a few minor changes could be so much better. I should get a refund on my subscription for the wasted time.
9 votesSorry to hear your're not satisfied with Xero Expenses, Jeremy. Appreciate there are a few things that you've noted that you feel could enhance your experience when using expenses.
We do try to keep one idea per thread to make it simple for community to understand what they're adding their support and to help share this back with our product teams. I've adjusted the title of your idea here to reflect exporting expenses. We have an idea for changing the sort order here, and you're welcome to start new ideas for any other points you've shared too.

Reporting - Set default date columns from oldest to most recent
A button you can click to reverse the order of the columns in Reporting
Typically the reports show the month in question closest to the account descriptions and then the prior months in columns to the right but we'd like to look at our current year starting with the earliest month in the column next to the account descriptions and the remainder of the year in columns to the right. This is particularly useful when building out projected cashflows.16 votesYou can re-order the columns of your report with the layout editor, Robbie. 🙂
Once you've got the report set up as you like you can Save as Custom to easily access the report with this layout.
If you're like to make this the default layout there is also an option for this - see our help here & here

Currently you can itemise NANE income on the P&L, however when doing annual accounts this NANE is not tranferred to the balance sheet. This shows an incorrect current year earnings.

Bank Feeds - Add a transaction code and use on the account transaction
Transactions imported by Yodlee Bank Feed do not display in the chronological order that they occur in my online banking portal or bank statements.
As I have a lot of bank transactions on any given day, this makes it time consuming to do any kind of reconciliation between by online bank account and my bank feed import as I have to match each transaction up in the different orders they appear.
This is a regular occurrence as Yodlee sometimes imports transactions part way through a day and I have to work out where I got up to processing these transactions…

Account Transactions report - Move selected date range 1 month forward or back
When in account transactions (or any report where you can select a date range) have a button to move that date range one month forwards or one month back.
For example if you have the date range selected as 01.08.2022-31.08.2022 have a backwards button that would change this automatically to 01.07.2022- 31.07.2022 or a forwards button that would change this to 01.09.2022-30.09.2022 without having to go in and manually change the date to every month.
This would be very helpful when doing detailed reconciliations on a monthly basis so you can move between the months much quicker. I know you…

New Account Transaction report - Show closing balance on first page
Please restore the display of the closing balance on the first page of this report.
The report is used each month to check control accounts which may go to many pages.
The closing balance used to show on the first page which was extremely helpful not you have to scroll to the bottom (and you have removed the option for less transactions to show) and then we have to scroll through to the last page in order to see the balance.
Please bring back the functionality of the old report before you stop access to it1 vote -
Xero Files - Ability to restore deleted files
A 'Deleted' folder in Files that captures deleted files.
Once I have uploaded a receipt to the files folder, I always dispose of the original.
If you accidentally attach it too, and then delete it from the transaction, it is gone forever. You have no ability to reload it from the files folder.
The original uploaded file is gone, so you have to source another copy of the receipt from the supplier.
Surely this deleted uploaded file has gone somewhere?
Can we have it directed to a folder?

Bills to pay: Pay supplier bills via electronic funds transfer (EFT)
To deposit a payment directly to a supplier's bank account is an important method to process bill payment for any business. I believe that you know EFT 80 Byte File Layout mandatories in Canada, but the batch file export from Xero does not meet the requirement. You should have a plan to service EFT ASAP.

Reconcile | Stripe - Auto match
When a shopping cart item is purchased via Stripe (as opposed to via an invoice from Xero), the transaction goes to the bank and then is imported into Xero via the bank feed. Because of this, none of my transaction totals or associated fees come through, forcing me to manually adjust every single transaction to properly account for the fees in my bookkeeping. This is unsustainable and ridiculous. When I used PayPal, I was able to set up PayPal as an account and therefore properly reconcile everything coming in through that portal and then associating the transfers with the amounts…
4 votesHi Allyson, there is a way to automate your Stripe payments to the lines imported with your feed. We have some help on this here.

Batch Payments - Supplier batch payment without swift code or linked bank account
I would like Xero to remove or make it optional when making batch supplier payment without swift code or linking with bank account as not every company will link their xero with their bank. Current batch payment is not applicable to my company as we do not link our bank account with xero. This compulsory swift code for bank processing is really not user friendly & our company book keeper has to enter supplier payment 1 by 1 for 20 invoice payment.

Fixed Assets - Ability to select account/s for disposal
Currently, the accounts you choose for fixed asset additions and accumulated depreciation are also used for disposal and depreciation on disposal. It would be helpful to be able to choose different accounts for the disposal transactions from those used for additions.
For example, fixed asset additions would go to an 'additions' account, depreciation in the year goes to a 'depreciation charge' account. Disposals go to 'cost of disposals' and 'depreciation on disposals accounts'. This keeps everything separate and mirrors the corresponding figures required for Ltd Company statutory accounts in the UK.
Being able to choose different accounts makes it easier…

Reporting - Sort by Account Name or Account Code with option to hide code
Ability to sort by Account Name or Code when customising reports, without having to show the detail of sort. e.g sort by account code without showing the code on published reports
Purpose: More professional documentation and increased flexibility and customisation with reports
46 votesHi team, appreciate not exactly what's being asked here but to confirm what's available at present.
In the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss you can now show Account code through the More option. From here, use the layout editor to drag & drop accounts to the order you'd like.
Once set up deselect the option to show Account code and your ordering will remain while the codes are not shown within the report.
You can also Save as custom so you can then access this layout anytime you need.
To go deeper with the insights for our team here, it's be good to know the specific reports you're wanting to see this feature in.
