Hybrid or Modified Cash Basis Reporting
Most of our clients (and I imagine many small businesses in the U.S.) use a hybrid reporting basis. Basically, short term assets and liabilities are recorded using the cash basis while long term assets and liabilities are recorded using the accrual basis.
Therefore, for example, this will result in sales being recorded when cash received but depreciation and amortization expense are recorded monthly. Branding - Feature for producing customised stationery
It would be helpful if there was a section on Xero dedicated to personalised editable stationery. Letterhead, envelopes with logo etc
1 voteHi Andrea, there are certain places in an organisation that you have the ability to upload a logo and include this on items such as invoicing and reporting, however this isn't something we have plans to expand for a full suite of stationary.
For now, you may find a connected app in Xero's marketplace that can fulfill this need and more. 🙂

Organisations - Enable a Greater Number Visible When Switching
When switching between (many) entities the visible list is too short, necessitating a frequent search for the required entity. There is ample space to make more of the entities visible.

There would appear to be no granular option to allow trusted users to directly add Xero Support when an issue appears. Currently, the only option would be to allow these users the more global option of creating, editing and deleting users which I would rather limit.

User Roles - Overdue invoice only role
Hi,
I would like if Xero can provide an invoice user view only to look at the overdue invoices.
This idea came up because we have a requirement to give this access to the person we hired for invoice chasing.
We do not need to let him see previous invoices or give him access to create new invoices.

Show the email subject line in Xero files.
It's simple enough to forward emails with invoices to my xero mailbox, but I don't have control over the filename. It would be great if Xero can show the subject line. That way I could change the subject line when I forward the email. It would look like a note on the invoice in Xero Files.
5 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing and supporting this idea. The file name shown in Xero Files is taken from the name on the attachments. As a workaround these could be renamed before the emails are forwarded to Xero or renamed from within Xero files.

Conversion | Ability to enter outstanding invoices via Manual journals
When bringing a company on board, and you need past invoice history of the invoices outstanding, it would be far quicker to type them into the journal than to have to capture the document individually. it would be better to be able to do a journal for the AR and AP once you have captured the company. time does matter, and this method which is currently there is very time-consuming. Other accounting packages have this function and it would be nice to see it being done here for the Advisors.
2 votesAppreciate ease when coming across from another software. Conversion balances and the way Xero works is quite critical to how outstanding invoices and bills are entered.
Xero makes sure your accounts receivable and payable are in balance to the transactions that have been entered.
While we will track the interest around this here I do want to be upfront that we don't have any plans to change the way in which these are entered.

Navigation - View all option and dates instead of page numbers
As the title suggests. A "view all" option throughout the product would be great. Or even view a year. Far batter than having to click load more over and over again. Especially when if you click off of the page you then have to laboriously keep clicking load more again and again.
Also to have dates next to (Or instead of) page numbers in the various scrolling pages; cash coding, reconcile, etc.
