Timesheets - New design has limited functionality
I have observed that the timesheets section in the payroll system has been updated. However, this update appears to have introduced several questionable design choices that hinder its functionality and efficiency.
Firstly, the employee list is not sorted alphabetically, which complicates the process of locating specific individuals. Secondly, the system no longer autofill's the default earnings rate, requiring unnecessary manual input. Thirdly, upon clicking the "Approve Timesheet" button, a redundant popup appears asking for confirmation of the approval, despite the action already being explicitly initiated. AU Payroll - Hide hourly rate for salaried employees
Hide the hourly rate for those employees on salary.

Comprehensive Plan
Grow Plan
We are small business employing 30 casual staff, majority of staff only works 5 hr/week but to be compliance, we need to enter their pay into system.
All we need is functions that available in the Grow plan, but because we have many casual staff, I have to choose Ultimate 10 and payroll for up to 50 people.
I pay about $180 per month
I feel like we are force to choose higher subscription to fund the development that of no beneficial to small business. We are trying to survive with day to day operation.

NZ Payroll - Draft time sheet not saving earnings rate
The draft time sheet used to be able to be saved with the earnings rate and no hours entered to allow for 3rd party data to be pushed in to populate the timesheet. Something has changed an you can no longer do this
2 votesHi Stuart. We appreciate your feedback about timesheets. By design, Xero timesheets are set up for users to add timesheet information manually, so it sounds as though this is working as designed.
However, Xero has an open API, meaning third party software providers are able to create an integration into Xero at any time without providing us documentation on how it works.
If you are using a third party solution, we recomend reaching out to the provider who created the solution if it's not working as expected as they'll be able to support you with the product they have designed.

AU Payroll: Ultimate Plan with 30 Employees Subscription Option
There should be more employee options in the ultimate subscriptions between 20 & 50 employees as there are small businesses out there that will never have 50 employees on the books per month but have more than 20. Even if the subscription points going up by 10 to accomodate this.

We are currently unable to update or change the superannuation authoriser details in our Xero account. Despite following the available steps under Payroll , the option to edit or update the authoriser details is not accessible.
Kindly assist us with the process to update the authoriser’s information for superannuation payment

AU Payroll - Report on different employee groups
Can an employee have more than one employee group and can tax and super payments be broken down into employee groups. We have NFP organisation that received funding from different areas. Employees work for up to 4 different groups each pay period. We need to be able to split Wages in 4 groups as well as the pagyw and superannuation. Is this going to be addressed in the future. Trying to get away from MYOB but it has these options.

Having multiple groups for each employee and assigning different employee groups for tax and super payments are different areas of Xero. Please create separate ideas for each feature and/or area of Xero you'd like to see this developed for, so we can gauge support and keep users updated.

NZ Payroll Total hours in Pay employee draft.
In the pay employee screen the total hours would show in the earnings box alongside Total earnings. Another way would be for approved leave to show in the timesheet screen.

These are two separate parts of Xero and we don't accept ideas that have multiple request in one post.

UK Payroll - Staffology payroll journal integration
Improve Staffology payroll journal integration to accommodate departments and individual employees costs including pensions and NIC to be allocated to different cost centres
1 voteSorry to hear the troubles you're running into here, Cristina. Xero has an open API, which means anyone can create an integration at any time without providing us documentation on how it works.

Payroll and Pension issues
Our company uses Xero in the UK and we have ongoing issues with NEST pension. I terminated a couple of temporary employees within the 3 month exemption period of paying pension. Termination and payday 8 Sept 2025, but NEST took pension payments from both employees even though it should only have kicked in from 16 Sept 2025 had they remained with us. Can this be looked at? NZ Payroll - Multiple employee bank accounts change in allocation of payments.
When an employee has set amounts to be paid to multiple bank accounts, if there are insufficient funds to pay the amounts Xero allocates to the lowest amount not the order of the bank accounts. This means that payments like rent can be short paid. It would be good to have a flag notifying you of this and an easier way to reorganise the payments.
