Hide Columns on Statements and Amend Headings on Statements
I am creating statements for an estate agent to send to landlords. Some of the exisitng headings on the statement are confusing for landlords and I would like to change them. I also want to hide the activity column as this is not required - the statement simply needs to show rent has come in and rent has been paid out. Can we please have the option to hide columns and change column headings. Thanks.
1 voteHi Nollaig, this is possible through the use of templates. To remove columns you'll need to use an advanced template with DOCX branding and amend the details that are shown using Microsoft Word.
If you're not too familiar with these - we have a community discussion where many users are happy to help and offer advice for your needs. 🙂

Xero Accounting app | Invoice - Ability to 'preview'
Could you add Invoice preview to Mobile app. This service is available on the main invoice page so it should be easy to add to the mobile app. It is standard with a lot of mobile app software payment systems
2 votesHey Paul - thanks for sharing your idea! I've checked with our team and I can confirm that it's possible to preview invoices in-app, as well as previewing the .pdf export.
The exception being draft invoices which, consistent with desktop Xero, do not allow a .pdf export.

Dashboard - Ability to add quick access to reports
It would be great to be able to add custom reports, such as Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, to the Tax and reporting tab on the Dashboard
2 votesHi Beth, it is already possible to favourite custom reports in Xero.
This'll make the selection of the report available from the 'Accounting' tab in the blue navigation - see more here and in my image below.

Bills - Bulk update bills with Planned Payment Dates
Please can you include a feature that allows you to select multiple bills within Xero and assign a planned payment date? Currently you have to manually select each individual bill and add dates in.
4 votesGood news to share, community!
With the latest enhancements to Xero Analytics, and Short-term cash flow you can now bulk update the planned payment date of 10x bills at a time. 🙂
If you haven't tried Xero Analytics yet - come over to Xero Central to find out how these tools can give insight into your business performance and upcoming cashflows.

UK Payroll: Support for Brightpay migration
Allow payroll to be set up by uploading the report from Brightpay when moving software.
1 voteHi Laura, thanks for your feedback here. Appreciate you may have already been through the set up process yourself but our recent release of the Switching wizard in Payroll for the UK aims to improve this flow if you set up a new organisation.
We've introduced an experience that'll make it easier to transition from your current payroll provider to Xero Payroll, reducing errors and saving time.
As part of the experience, you'll be able to import a Full Payment Summary(FPS) from your current software provider to Xero Payroll. You can get more understanding of how this works through our short video. 🙂

Reporting - Ability to freeze header rows
The ability to freeze header rows when generating reports to screen (so that the header remains at the top of screen when scrolling through data)
7 votesHi everyone, we appreciate the interest in sticky headers and rows in the financial reports and this feature has now been rolled out to all newer versions of Xero reports! 😊

UK payroll - Remove automatic bank holiday payments
Remove the automatic bank holidays been added, If you could add the days worked then it would work but it is adding bank holiday payments even if someone has left a week before.
7 votesHey community, 👋 thanks for all your support on this idea, I'm popping in to switch it across to delivered! 🎉
If the employee has a leave date prior to the bank holiday it will not be added automatically. Also you have the option to include or exclude the relevant bank holiday's for the employee in their employee file.

Bank Reconciliation - Add account when reconciling
It would be great if when we were in the reconciliation screen for a bank account and we came across an entry that needed to have a new account added, we would be able to add an account from the reconciliation screen, rather than having to go to the chart of accounts (so, after adding the vendor name in the reconciliation screen, for example, if there was an option when scrolling through accounts to add a new account, that would be great).
7 votesHi Kimberley 👋 this is already possible!
If you click add details from within the Create tab it'll expand the entry window and if you click into the 'Account' field you'll see an option to +Add account 😊

Contacts - Add smart link for suppliers in the report
Contacts-Smart link for Suppliers
Purpose: the ability to run a report of all suppliers bills activity summary within a date range
3 votesHi team, this is available through the Payable Invoice Detail or Summary reports at present which can be filtered for a specific supplier. Alternatively, you could run the Supplier Invoice Bills Activity report (found in the Contact Transactions Summary)
If you're interested in seeing this connected and auto filtered from a contacts record in Xero, we have an idea for this across here that you're welcome to support & follow for update. Thanks

Tracking - Freeze the top row and left column when scrolling
Hi there, we have a suggestion that would help us a lot as we have a lot of tracking categories. Could Xero add a fixed top menu and side menu so that when we scroll up and down we can still see the tracking categories and also what it relates to. Basically freeze the left column with headings and freeze the top column with headings.
4 votesHi team, with no response we're going to guess this is within reports. If so, with Xero reports you'll find the top row and left column- are now 'sticky', so you can see the headings when scrolling beyond where they'd be displayed. 🙂

General Ledger Report - Show supplier/client name and other side of double entry
General Ledger Report - Show separate column for supplier/client name and other side of double entry
We are accounts practice with more and more clients using Xero. However General Ledger export is not sufficient, as it is hard to group expenses, when there is no supplier name, as reference or details usually left as per bank upload, hence difficulty grouping while preparing final/management accounts.
Also another side of double entry would be very helpful, as you could see for example that entry in lets say Telephone nominal is from Bank # NL, Jrn from Accruals NL, Jrn from Prepayments NL,…
1 voteFantastic to see that you've sort this on e out, Grita! 😊
Just as you noted its possible to add a Contact and Related account columns to the Account Transactions report to see what you're after here. Thanks for coming back to share with others too!

Reporting - Default column order in a financial report
Please add an option to change the default column order in a financial report for a user. This would save quite a bit of time when building long run trend graphs etc
1 voteHi Les, this is possible through the use of Custom reports. Once you change the format of the report, Save as custom where you'll also find you have the option to make this the default.
It will need to be set up for each financial report you'd like to implement this across, but once done can be an easy select each time it's used by yourself or another in the org.

1 voteHey Sara 👋

You'll now have the option to use an address lookup in the initial employee set-up screen and in the employee details screen.
This is part of our 'Building on Beautiful' work, you can read more about it on our Xero Central page here 😁

Contact - Year on year revenue report
The ability to analyse year on year customer revenue by selecting your time frame and comparing across a number of selected years (this is what I would like) or by month / year. Allows to have a quick snapshot on how each customer account is performing and address any obvious loss of custom / sales. A basic analysis report but a highly useful and informative one. The ability to compare in this way exists on Xero for profit and loss but not for customer accounts.
1 voteHi Caron, the Income by Contact report should give you what you're looking for here 😉
You'll find similar ti the Profit & Loss you can set your comparative periods, as well as view a chart of your top 10 customers!

Contacts - Default order of invoices/bills by 'Date'
When viewing a contact it would be helpful to have all the invoices or bills listed by "date". Currently they are listed by "activity date" but that is not relevant if I'm searching for an invoice. It can be changed manually, by clicking "date" twice (first time it brings oldest to the top!), but it's a very basic normal thing to look for invoices by the invoice date.

Customer Portal to view current and historic invoices
Customer has asked if there is a link that would enable them to see current and historic invoices - apparently there isn't a way to do this.
Background: we email customers invoices every week through Xero. Occasionally the email's fail to arrive although Xero says they have been sent.
Our customer has said 'surely there is a page where I can see current and past invoices so I don't have to hassle you'
3 votesA Customer Activity statement would be a good first measure, Jane.
Appreciate it doesn't help where there email is not received - when initially sending invoices, it could be good to include both the online invoice link and a copy of the PDF so your customer has 2 routes to be able to look these up later.
You could also look to set up and include a link for your customers to view 'Outstanding bills' online.

Report Showing which Supplier invoice a credit note has been allocated against
The ability to create a report where you can see which Supplier invoice a credit note has been allocated against.
The reason for this is we have a large number of credits from a couple of suppliers and due to some of the credit notes being for a previous period, they are unable to be allocated against the invoice they were created for, so we send through a list of allocations to our supplier each month which we manually have to create at the moment so that we can ensure that our systems balance.
Ideally if the report can contain…
1 voteHi Sandra, you can view this by running the Customer Invoice Activity report.
If you only want to see allocations you could filter the report to 'Source' and select 'Receivable Credit Note Allocation' 🙂
From here you can then export and hare with your contact, outside Xero.

Xero Accounting app - Set default behaviour for 'Send me a copy'
When sending an invoice from a mobile device, remove the “send me a copy” button, or at least let us make a one time adjustment to stop having to turn it off every single time.
1 voteAppreciate letting us know how we could improve your flow when working from the Xero Accounting app, Joshua. Our team have just released a change for iOS to align with the Android behaviour.
Now, when you send an invoice or a quote, the 'Send me a copy' field will be unchecked by default.🙂

Fixed Amount Discount
Fixed Amount Discount Feature
Purpose: Whether it's for small or large businesses I believe Fixed Amount Discount feature is a good add-on to Xero aside from Percentage Discount.
This feature comes very handy if the supplier/seller wanted to give a fixed amount value when it comes to giving discount in a whole.
2 votesThis is already possible with new invoicing and quotes, Marie - Take a look at our help on this in Xero Central
