  2. What if I want to add something on the cover and content page? There should be an option to insert content, add a text block, etc. Not to mention the period customisation, we have clients that just started out and we are required to add (Date of Incorporation) behind the starting date, e.g. period from 23 August 2024 (Date of Incorporation) to 31 March 2025.

    I want to also address the trial balance and some other reports as well, namely the accounting period has a lack of flexibility in terms of displaying the figures we wanted, like all I want…

  3. If capital gains have been distributed in a family trust distributions, the data doesn't feed into item 18. You can't select the 'create CGT worksheets…' option like you can for managed funds. Instead you have to create new CGT worksheet & manually enter the CGT information

  4. You can't create a stand-alone worksheet for depreciable assets then feed the figures to a chosen label. Depreciation has to be created within the label e.g. rental worksheet/D5/D1. For assets created within a rental schedule you can print nice depreciation worksheets. For assets created at other labels, you sometimes can't print a nice worksheet and the information displayed at the label is limited. The assets worksheets attached to a rental property in a Trust return doesn't show the cost or acquisition date of each asset.

  5. It would be great if ALL users (ie practice staff) in Xero HQ could see all Xero files. It should be obvious on the list which are accessible and which are not (ie if you didn't have access, the Xero org name could be greyed out)

    In terms of access, if a particular staff member did not have access to a Xero file, they should be able to request access from a HQ Administrator (with mange user access of course) which can be granted easily. Would be handy to have a 'Why' comment field so the approver knows the context…

  6. The way prepayments work in Xero, these only impact the Accounts Receivable once it's applied to an invoice, therefore they don't impact the total of the statement balance.

    Solution for now enter prepayments as Overpayments to the Customer's account. My recommendation is that we have the ability to modify the words in the Activity field that appear on statements, so when overpayment is the desired function to use to trick Xero to show the payment as a credit on a statement, I would like to modify the field that says Overpayment to say "Prepayment" on the statement for the customer…

  7. When each job is created, we manually have to add the contact to the job. If this is not done, the invoice that is pushed to Xero Blue doesn't have contact information and we are unable to utilise the automatic reminders etc. This requires manual monitoring and negates the efficiencies within Xero Blue.

    This manual process would be solved if we had the ability to set the Primary Contact as the default contact on jobs that are created. This could for example, be set up as a tick box in settings. This could give people the option to switch on…

  8. Add option for second week under XPM capacity settings to allow for 9-day fortnight. With the current setup only allowing for one week, this impacts the staff KPI reporting rendering it bascially a useless feature.

  9. I have a client who holds 4 rental properties all of which had significant differences from the previous year creating a large increase in tax payable. They have asked for an explanation, and it would be more efficient and easier for them to understand, if the comparatives could be on the same report as the current years figures so they were only looking at 1 piece of paper for each property. You can see the 2 years information on the screen but it would be preferable for some meetings to be able to have a hard copy. Thanks

  10. We need a Trust Estimate to be included in Trust tax returns for ALL types of trusts. Xero recently added a trust estimate but it is for Deceased Estates Less Than 3 years only. This is not useful. This type of trust is a very small percentage of the trusts that our firm has.
    We need the estimate to be able to calculate -
    - Deceased Estates More Than 3 Years
    - Discretionary Trusts where there are Foreign Beneficiaries
    - Discretionary Trusts where there Minor Beneficiaries
    - Discretionary Trusts where there is no beneficiary presently entitled

    1. The functionality to format text with bold, italics, and underlining.

    2. The ability to apply multiple highlight colours to text, as well as different font types and colours.

  11. Add a next button to the managed fund distribution page in xero tax.

    When a client has 10 or 15 managed fund distributions that have imported from the pre-fill you have to go back and click on the next one and it is hard to keep track that you have reviewed every single one. (And deleted the 0's this is a separate idea)

    If there was a next button so you can just start at the top and work your way through all the distributions to review them it would make this much easier.

  12. A quick link from this years (active) workpaper pack to last years (archived) workpaper pack for this client would be so useful and save so much time. Accessing prior year (archived) workpapers is such a 🥴 workflow at present.

    Ideally this would be available on the Workpapers page (where you can see all workpapers) and take you to the same for last year, and it would be available on every individual workpaper page (and take you to that same page for last year).

  13. We'd like the ability to import job budgets at the time of importing new jobs. The budget field seems to be a standard field for jobs, so I see there would be no reason we can't add the budget at the same time of the import.

Due to issues with staff editing recurring jobs but not updating the job name and/or description I would like to see the staff permissions for recurring jobs amended to have a dropdown list so we can limit staff access to editing recurring jobs but leave access to view, create and delete in the same way as with clients.

    Thanks for sharing and engaging with product ideas here. We appreciate the desire to run more reports in Xero in a different currency.

    To confirm what is currently available in Xero for multi currency reporting - Right now the aged reports will run in the organisation's base currency. However, for any invoice or bill that has been created in a foreign currency you'll see an icon next to that line in your report which provides notation of the exchange rate details, and these will all be listed at the bottom of the report.

    With the Payable and Receivable summary and detail reports you can add an 'Original currency' column along with other foreign exchange details.

    It's also possible to add a filter to these reports to only show invoices of a particular status for example Awaiting payment.

  18. Could xero consider reducing the size of text/fonts on the screen. I don't need super extra large enormous text to do my work. Everyone walking past or coming to speak with me can read my screen and see bank details and values, employee names and $ amount and so the list goes on. I have already asked if there can be a bland landing page so that bank accounts (Including balances) are NOT the default screen. Anyone standing nearby can see this information when Xero starts. Both of matters limit confidentiality and most users don't need this sort of exaggerated…

    Thanks for getting back to me on your needs here, Janet. I'll move the idea back to submitted as we don't have direct plans around this atm. We'll get a sense of the interest from the community here and will keep you updated if any progress is planned.

  19. There needs to be functionality to have multiple trusts or superfunds with the same name i.e. Smith Family Trust or Brown Family Superannuation Fund, as ATO does no require these to be unique, without causing issue with invoices in Blue Xero or having to change the name in XPM to differentiate and have to change the name again each time you lodge. Same name trusts and superfunds is not uncommon.
