  1. I have moved to Xero Tax from Reckon Elite, but just realised that Xero Tax does not have a Notification of formation of consolidated group schedule.

    As a tax agent, it is crucial to have this schedule to update client's consolidation status, including updating joining/leaving subsidiaries.

    It would be great if this can be added as quickly as possible.

  2. I have noticed that Xero rounds the HELP repayment to the nearest dollar when estimating the tax outcome for individual tax returns however the ATO does not round the HELP repayment when issuing the notice of assessment.

    Can Xero update the HELP repayment calculation to include cents instead of rounding to the nearest dollar?

  3. The Beneficiary Details schedule of the return will need to be updated - In the title section there should be a 'King's Counsel' option instead of 'Queen's Counsel'.

  5. Could we have the option to send out accounts and tax returns without a date on them, so that when the client signs them via E-sign options, the date can be updated to reflect the date they signed?

    We have been embracing Xero Tax for all our company accounts and tax returns this year, to really identify what still needs to be addressed and provide that feedback before we abandon our existing software.

  6. A placeholder for the applicable tax return year that can be inserted into the NOA email template would make it easy for clients to know which year the email relates to.

  8. Needed: an option button in Xero Tax which switches the Accounts between FRS 102 and FRS 105.

    The majority of our Clients only require FRS105 Accounts to be submitted to Companies House but they all ask for FRS 102 Accounts to provide to their Bank or for applying for mortgages etc.

    We also want them to sign FRS102 Accounts since they have much more disclosure and if Clients simply see the FRS105 version of Accounts, they question the fee we charge them for such a small output (not realising the amount of work behind preparing them).

  9. When I use Xero tax it pre-populates the tax agent number overriding the previous entry in the previous year. We want this to be the client phone number due to we want the ATO to contact them.

    Every tax return it is taking manual labour to change the phone number from the pre-populated phone number.

    We'd like the option to pre-populate the client phone number like other client information.

    We'd prefer to not have to delete any details to replace the phone number and this was resulting in tax return error.

  10. Please can we have a simple Tax Return Status report that we can run by tax year (or other appropriate filters) that shows all the relevant fields that I can see on personal tax return screen.

    This way we would be able to run a report for a particular tax year and see who we still have to do by way of a control check. This would also be useful on the company tax and accounts side

  11. It would be helpful if XPM could automatically select 'Split Provisional 50/50' for clients since the system already has the information from the IRD to do this. This would stop clients future provisional tax showing incorrectly on a current tax return and in tax payment reminders and would instead ensure the figures advised to pay agreed to the IRD's figures without us having to manually intervene.

  14. It would be wonderful if we could transfer interest, dividends, annual trust distribution information, and capital gains between a husband and wife (or partners etc) when the accounts are held 50/50 or 1/3 25% etc without having to re-enter the schedule into the other party's tax return.

    Link the partners together like it does with a rental schedule.

  16. For the prior year comparable option in Xero - The compare functionality is only on the main forms, but can you include on schedules?? The prior year comparables only seem to appear re the Form C Disclosures, not any accompanying schedules - would love this feature to be so the comparison can be printed out

  17. Would be cool to be able to edit the name of the PDF attachment sent with the Tax Payments emails from "PaymentLetter" to a name that is more specific to the client.

    Would be particularly helpful where a client has multiple entities to pay tax for.

    Possibly use XPM merge fields for the pdf file name? for example "{Client} Payment Letter due {PaymentDueDate}"

  18. Currently there is the ability to click on the file preview within an accrual based VAT return and this will pull up the attachment on that transaction. This doesn't work on the cash based return unless the attachment has been attached to the payment itself rather than the bill/sales invoice entry.

    It would be helpful if the cash based return could pull the attachments from the same bill/invoice area as accrual based returns.

  19. When you create a tax return for a client, the system doesn't pull through their address or email, this need to be automated from the info in HQ. Not sure why it doesn't pull through, when it pulls through NI number and UTR, why doesn't it pull through address or email, we have to physically select it from drop down box

  20. When entering in the Franking Account in a tax return, you should be able to reorder the rows if you enter a date that is not in chronological order. Or alternatively, the system should be smart enough to re-order the rows based on date.
