  1. Dates - could this please not necessarily be the current date? This is the one most infuriating thing I find with Xero as it is time-consuming to keep altering it.

    For example, when entering bills, I am working through bills from the previous month. It would be useful if the date remembered the previous date entered and defaulted to it, so that one could just change the 'day' number and not the month and year.

    Alternatively, could one choose a month period and year so that all entries are going to be in that month, with just the day numbers…

  2. Hi,
    My first thought is that the home page is overly busy. The graphs are great but there is A LOT going on. We have more than one bank account so that would make the homepage even busier. The task widget is a great idea but the recent invoice payments and chart of accounts aren't really useful for us. We would want to remove widgets that aren't used.

    It would be great to have a projects widget showing project time use and amount on the homepage.

    Love the improved navigation at the top especially the reporting and tax tabs. This…

  3. It would be useful to have custom dates on the main menu. I find it frustrating that I have to pick a timeline, then change the dates.

  5. Allow negative stock which has been asked for for at least 10 years but you say it requires a significant rewrite of code to do it - you are in a significant rewrite so please.....do it!

  6. The prototype homepage shows "Products and Services" only in the 'Sales' menu, for a buyer in the company it would need to be in the 'Purchases' menu as they would not have access to the sales menu

    Thanks for your idea here, Sergii. Really good to hear what our customers would find most useful to get a visual of from the homepage.

    We're beginning to track the interest for an Inventory widget that'd show low stocks from your idea here and I'll share if there are any updates.

  8. Custom reports as an option the Report drop down. I know we can favourite them, but if we have a lot of custom reports it's quicker just to go to the custom report page immediately and work from there.

  9. Clarity of 'Top Line Navigation' format 'Home / Sales / Purchases' etc - the formatting is not clear enough and does not stand out as the Primary Navigation. Please could this be in 'Bold' or outlined so it is not lost in this new very busy homepage.

  10. Title: Custom Colour or Dark Mode Option for Xero Interface

    It would be hugely beneficial to offer either a darker theme or allow custom interface colours—especially for users managing multiple businesses—so you can quickly differentiate accounts and reduce eye strain.
    This improves accessibility (fewer headaches/migraines for many users) and reduces visual fatigue during extended use.

  11. Custome Widget for PAYG & BAS Linked to nominated Bank Account

    As a small business owner we set aside PAYG and BAS weekly. it would be incredibly useful to have a custom dashboard widget linked to a nominated bank account.

    This widget would:

    • Display the total PAYG and BAS currently owing (pulled directly from Xero’s BAS/PAYG data).
    • Show the current balance in our dedicated BAS holding account.
    • Highlight the difference between the two amounts so we can see at a glance whether we are ahead or behind in setting aside tax funds.

  14. Critically important to our business is being able to easily view 'notes' on overdue invoices next to their overdue amount in a list. No additional click thorughs with each individual invoice number as is the current system.

    Knowing when a reminder was sent and being able to view what their latest response was in a list form would massively help with managing unpaid invoices.

    We create separate spreadsheets to track overdue invoices and bad debt which is inefficient.

    This should be resolved with a quick view in the dashboard to ensure better debt management.

  16. I would like the Business Performance graph to remain. Its a useful visual and instant reminder of the performance.

    Additionally adding the VAT liability to the home screen would be extremely useful. Yes I know it changes daily, however a good insight for business and management of cash flow in an instant (without having to produce reports).

    The contents of the proposed Task Bar is just a duplication of information that's already on the home screen therefore not useful to add them collectively on 1 widget. To be able to add our own written task and reminders on a calendar…

  17. At a glance, a running total of VAT and Corporation tax due. As a small business, this would be very helpful for planning. Crunch Accounting had this on their homepage and it is the only thing i miss about their very clunky system!

  18. As an accountant I prefer the Reporting and Accounting tabs together, under one tab as it has always been. It would slow me down, if I had to search for accounting tools/reports under different tabs.
    Please keep it simple!

  19. Filter out expense claims from Bills Awaiting Payment

    I input my own money occasionally into the business & don't require paying back, so the expense claim is left "open" & shows up on Bills awaiting payment - thus confusing the amount owing to Bills I have outstanding.

  20. Can the list of favourite reports be set to default to always include the Trial balance (at least with Advisor rights). As an accountant I always run a Trial balance report and have to manually set this as a favourite on every client I log into. I also regularly use the accountant transaction report and Aged payables and receivables which are already default favourites.
