Xero - Resize in conjunction with browser window
When resizing my browser window, many of the Xero screens (including Bills, Timesheets, Invoices) do not resize. Instead they chop off on the right hand side. There is not even the option of a slider to get over to the right.
I have tested this across two browsers IE and Chrome. Frequently I am working on a laptop with a small screen and this is really annoying. I would rather they scale up or down when I make my browser larger or smaller.

So, my request to be able to resize widgets on the currently-in-beta homepage has been combined into this feature request, but I actually think they are 2 different things from a dev point of view.
The original request here has to do with responsive website design. It's about the website detecting the device on which you're viewing it & responding as needed.
My request was about user experience in terms of how *I* want to size & arrange the widgets on the homepage. Some of the widgets I want to be smaller or larger (or simpler v more complex in terms of data shown), regardless of which device I'm using.
Please either separate these requests back out, or make sure the dev team is addressing both distinct aspects of this now-combined feature request.

I would like the ability to resize the widgets on the homepage. Perhaps this is offering versions of the widgets with or without different elements (e.g., toggling the bar chart on or off on the "bills to pay" or "invoices owed to you" widgets). Perhaps it's literally just about making it smaller & removing excessive white space (see attached example of the chart of accounts watchlist for one of my clients).

It sounds like you're experiencing a common UI issue with Xero where key screens like Bills, Timesheets, and Invoices don't respond properly to browser resizing, especially on smaller laptop screens. This kind of fixed layout can be frustrating when there's no horizontal scroll or responsive scaling. You've already tested it across Chrome and IE, so it's likely a design limitation within Xero itself. As a workaround, you could try adjusting your screen zoom or using browser extensions that force responsive behavior. Alternatively, lightweight browsers like xnxubd VPN Browser (https://xnxubdvpnbrowser.co/) can sometimes handle resizing better or provide simplified views that adapt more fluidly, especially on limited screen sizes.

Please just reduce the minimum space between columns when shrinking a window. I don't want the browser window to take up my whole screen just so I can see the invoice with out scrolling left to right.

Xero is great if you are using a large widescreen monitor - on a small laptop, not so much. It would be really helpful to have a "compact" switch allowing less thant the current large amount of white space between columns etc. and the possibility of fitting in both the Xero window and another window (excel or bank) on the same screen!
Or just reduce the minimum space between columns when shrinking a window?
