Thanks for sharing your idea about limiting which pay items from the Pay Template appear in timesheets.
Regarding adding other units for allowances to timesheets, I'd suggest heading over and showing some support these existing ideas:
- AU Payroll | Timesheet - Ability to add allowances of other unit types
- Xero Me - Add Unit option to Timesheets
Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!
Along with votes, other members can share additional detail about how your idea could improve their experience with Xero.

Hey all, thanks for providing your feedback on the ability to create timesheets for a period which has already been paid. It’s been a little while since you raised this idea, so we wanted to check in. We can see this idea has been steadily gaining support. Our product team are keeping an eye on this idea and we will continue to share updates as things evolve.

Once a timesheet has been deleted for a given pay period by an employee, both the employee and the payroll administrator should be able to create a new timesheet for this same period.
We have had instances where the employee has accidently deleted their timesheet after it was declined by payroll administrator (instead of fixing it), and once deleted there is no ability for either employee or payroll administrator to create another timesheet for this period (I submitted a support request to Xero and they confirmed this).

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback on having timesheets displayed in order from newest to oldest, by default. We appreciate you taking the time to explain how this impacts your workflow.
We know some of you have been filtering date ranges as a workaround, though this adds extra steps.
We're updating this idea to Accepted as part of wider timesheet updates which are currently being investigated by our product team. We'll keep you updated as we learn more.

I would prefer this also as currently I need to click on the menu option to re-sort after approving each timesheet, which is tedious and time consuming. With the current default, my latest timesheets are buried deep pages and pages down. I suggest having a Timesheet setting, where you can add your own default setting to sort them however you need, that way you are accommodating everyone's needs. But I do forsee the above latest period being the most popular.

Hi everyone, I wanted to share another update regarding timesheet flexibility.
Our product team is currently working on a feature that will allow employees to add other unit-based earnings types directly to their timesheets via Xero Me. This means your team will soon be able to record allowances and other non-ordinary earnings pay items alongside their regular hours.
We know this has been a highly requested feature to help reduce manual adjustments for admins. We are currently in the development phase and will provide a further update here once we’re closer to a release date.

I would like for Payroll Admins to have the ability to create draft timesheets overriding any drafts created by employees.
Our employees use the Xero Me app to create their own timesheets. If an employee has started a timesheet, but its in draft format, as Payroll Admin I can't see that timesheet until they submit it.
In situations where an employee is then off sick, on holidays, or (as happened today) unable to use their Xero Me app due to issues with the app - I would like the ability to either see, modify and submit their draft timesheet or create a new one for that pay period. I currently can not do this.
I can not always contact employees and therefore my only other option is to manually enter hours directly into the pay slip but this doesn't allow me to utilise tracking categories.

I use bank rules for regular automatic payments including bank loans, hire purchase agreements, regular bills. I would love to be able to attach a document to the bank rule, that is then added to all transactions this rule is applied to. Currently I have to go back periodically and do it manually per transaction, which is time consuming and tedious.
