Appreciate your feedback on how you use invoicing and the benefit you find in being able to approve and view the next invoice in sequential invoice number order. As we continue to plan further developments within this space, our product teams would like to engage you all here to get a better sense of our invoicing users for future improvements. We’d find your feedback invaluable and if you’d be interested in sharing with us, please fill in our survey here.

Would like an 'approve' button not save & close or save & email without having to make another click

This latest update of sales is a huge step backward for users and has added many more mouse clicks ... not an improvement at all!

Ability to edit the width of columns and line spacing of rows on reports.

Compact view looks good on screen but when printed it is spaced out and printed on many pages

An easy fix to one less clicking each day - bill payments shows our bank account already but sales payments have to click drop down then click bank

Hi Claire, you can add an expected payment date from the Awaiting payments list in Sales. Appreciate it's not quite possible from the individual invoice itself atm so have slightly updated the title of your idea here. If there's any plans of adding this here we'll let you know.

Thank you - I can see that now.

But the overdue days are calculated on 'due date' not expected date.

Also having a total at the top for each 'expected date' like in bills would be a great tool for forecasting income.

So in reality having an 'expected date' is a waste of time as it does do anything to help us users

Re Aged Payable Report and Ages Payable Summary Reports

Can there be an option under 'Ageing by' for 'Planned Date' and when searching in Business section

I import alot of invoices into Xero and dont use the due date.

When balancing my monthly statements I allocate planned dates they are due

Appreciate wanting to see a direct option within customer statements that exist in Xero.

An option here would be to run the Customer Invoice Activity report where you can filter by Source to remove payment type sources such as 'Receivable Payment'. Once set up this could be saved as a custom report to be run with your filters at any time. 🙂

Kelly the Customer Invoice Activity report is not a solution to the problem it still shows the payment split and allocated against each invoice even if it did show the total payment it is not a statement with our letterhead - very unprofessional and how do we select which customers to print each month - ridiculous!.

I only have about 20 statements to send out every month let alone other businesses that have 100s to send out.

What we are wanting the statements to show on the statement the total payment the customer has made not show how the payment was split up against invoices. Like Jayne said the customer just wants to check what they have paid - not specifically which invoices it went against. Can this total not come from the batch total of the payment if paying for many invoices.

Would have thought this was a simple accounting practice for an accounting system

I totally agree the way it is printed now is very confusing for customers - they just want to see the total they have paid not what invoices it was allocated to

Hi everyone, we've been tracking this idea for some years now and truly value all the feedback we've heard on the desire and time saving reducing the manual steps in reconciliation

would achieve. We completely get wanting to skip that extra ‘OK’ click when you trust the suggested matches.

We’re excited to share that this idea is now in development. At Xerocon this year we shared automated bank reconciliation - Using JAX to automatically match and categorise your bank transactions with your Xero transactions.😊

It's in beta already and being tested by a small group of users atm, and as soon as we have more to share on this rolling out wider I'll give you another update here. Thanks again for helping us shape the future of Xero!

    Thanks for the update

I realise there is a lot of work needed in the background that we dont see but put simply for me a tick box beside transactions like in bills and sales and to be able to select all the transactions with 'OK' is really what I would like to save time in the reconciliation....

Hi everyone, thanks for the engagement and support on this idea. We recognise that having the option to display accounts in GL account number order when editing a reports layout would reduce the need to manually adjust the order of accounts.

We've reviewed your feedback, including the specific issues with grouping, and are moving this idea to Accepted. This reflects that the idea has not been included in our current roadmap but that this is an idea that we will continue to monitor.

This would be great for Trial Balance Report I use monthly and use general ledger numbers rather thank names - an option to choose would be great

Hi everybody, coming across from the previous forums we know this idea has a lot of interest.

There is a way of using Xero's reports to accomplish what you're asking here and save the format so you can easily access and send this report to your customers outside of Xero.

Running the Aged Receivables detail report you can choose how many ageing periods you'd like to show and set the period to '30 days'. Simply Filter the report by Contact and Update to run.

    • Once you've got it set up, save as Custom so you can easily access this format anytime
    • If you deal with groups of contacts this also means you could Filter for multiple contacts to combine the view into one report rather than multiple customer statements 🙂
    • Export the report to PDF, where you can send to customers from your email system outside of Xero

    We appreciate…
