Yes spot on Riaan - there's one issue i saw a couple of months ago which only had 2 votes at the time and was already "Under Review" with a Xero employee called Kelly having replied.

The issue was to "add more gender options". Not that i'm denigrating the specific request, but there were only 2 votes on it when i first saw it and it was already under review with a response!!

Meanwhile, as per my original comment below here - THIS issue which is pretty vital, speaks directly to Xero's "WHY"/ stated purpose of existing and that, when you add together with other postings for basically the same thing, has been viewed thousands of time with no review.

    Hi Team,

I see here only 24 votes, however on another thread containing discussion on this topic there are nearly 3000 views. The question was posed in 2018 by Anthony Carter and that thread was closed.

    Here is the link: https://central.xero.com/s/question/0D51N00004GHabYSAT/can-you-apply-an-early-payment-discount-on-invoices-for-customers

Is it possible that the importance of this feature is flying under the radar - the fact that 3000 views have happened on that other thread indiactes a strong interest in this feature being added.

At a time where cashflow is more important that ever for small businesses, it feels like here is a feature that Xero could work on that would genuinely help small businesses to incentivise their larger customers to pay sooner/ on time and help alleivate stress.

This blog on Xero describes Xero's "why" as "making life better for small businesses (https://www.xero.com/blog/2019/09/driven-by-purpose-the-customer-experience-journey/)

So I feel that in that vein, this feature should be bumped up because it is something that can directly impact cashflow for small business customers of Xero, therefore making life better for them.

Hi everyone, a year on from my last engagement we wanted to provide an update for you all here.

As many will be across we're in the midst of making a lot of iterations and improvements to new invoicing leading up to the retirement of classic invoicing in September (2024).

We have a fair amount of work lined up in the teams schedule over the coming months and to give an indication there isn't any committed plans around a function to add interest to invoices.

That said, we do have a team that have picked up and are considering how we might solve this with the technology in new invoicing - It's early days on this yet, but I'll share if there's any progress on this for you all here.

In the meantime, as has been shared by others over time there are a few ways you could accomplish this…

Thanks for confirming, Andy - Really appreciate the screenshot. 🙂

I've checked in with our Payroll team where this detail is saved.
We appreciate wanting more options for gender when entering personal details, and in some regions such as AU & NZ this is optional.
Currently, in order to ensure successful payroll filings with HMRC in the UK, we need to match the schema they provide. That said, our team are reassessing how this fits in Xero so I'll shift this Idea to 'under review' and can share any updates that come.

    Hi Team,

I see this is one of only 11 "Under Review" ideas - yet has only 2 votes - i can see dozens of other ideas, open for far longer than this one, with orders of magnitude more votes where no one from Xero has replied yet.

Be great if xero could try to keep to a meritocracy here and drop this from "under review" for one of the other issues not currently under review that has a lot more votes - e.g. integration of early payment discounts on invoices.

The answer to this one is simple - what are the legal (i.e. available to choose from on your passport) options to select from in each country Xero operates. Xero should match those. If there are 10 options in a particular country, fair enough - xero should make those available. If there are 3 options (M, F, Other/ Unspecified) then those should be the options available. Nothing else should be made available until it is included in the formal legal framework of the country of operation and no time wasted "reviewing" it at the expense of other more demanded ideas.

Thanks and apologies to the Andy - i empathise with your sentiment and any distress - but many of us are frustrated by many aspects of the various platforms we use - i fully support you arguing for this. I just don't support Xero bumping it up the queue at the expense of so many other issues that clearly have more demand (at the moment).
