Great news team, work has been moving along well and I'm pleased to share our teams are developing the ability for employees to self-onboard by entering their own onboarding details within Xero Payroll in Australia.
We appreciate the extra admin and time this will take back for Payroll admins to be able to focus on the more critical payroll tasks. Currently in testing with a small group of users, I look forward to coming back with more details as we progress to release.

This is a pretty basic feature honestly – the free Payroller app even has this!

@Emma (Accounts) Rosenblatt,
For employees on a wage covered by an award (e.g. SCHADS), they are meant to receive a reportable per-km allowance for mileage (see attached), rather than being compensated via an expense claim, such as an office worker would. It would definitely be useful for Xero to offer both. I currently have to manually add allowances each week for sleepover allowance and motor vehicle use, which is very frustrating.

The "Start and End Times" timesheet type is great and long overdue, but it's unusable for anyone on an award wage, as they need to be able to select non-Ordinary Hours, add travel time, etc.
This feature is desperately needed.
