AU Payroll - New Employee - Online Commencement Forms
Ability to send and generate online commencement forms from Xero Payroll.
Purpose: Employees can complete and submit their own online commencement forms, rather than having to ask the employers to submit it.
Appreciate your input here, everyone. This is a feature that our team have looked into and would like to develop for AU Payroll, however there are a few other key pieces of work lined up before they get a chance to explore this further.

Switched from MYOB to Xero and happy with almost everything EXCEPT this. Not being able to onboard is a big issue. Time wasted doubling handling and having to email pdfs and forms to employees. Assumed Xero would have this functionality as MYOB had it. Very frustrated and disappointed. Please prioritise this functionality.

Please move ahead with this improvement for Xero AU Payroll. It will be a wonderful addition for business to have this feature integrated and automated with Xero. What is the timeline looking like?

We currently use the Canyou. app to automate these forms & they directly import into Xero. It is a good placeholder until Xero sort themselves out.

we switched from MYOB who offer self-onboarding. This is a critical feature for us as we have a large, ever-changing casual workforce. Self-onboarding is not only time saving, but creates fewer opportunities for error. We will only limp along with this system for a short time...

That employer adds basic details including email address, then a 'new employee' form is generated from Xero directly to the new employee emailed to them, so they can add their details directly - into Xero. This process could save double handling, prevent errors and provide lovely transparency when a new person joins. All the details could then be exported for other systems for businesses big enough to have them. This could also be a form that's embedded in other paperwork. :) Thank you!

This is a critical feature for us and having just moved from MYOB which had this feature was a function we assumed would exist. Going back to sending separate emails with PDF's backwards and forwards and having to re-key information feels like a massive step backwards.

We moved 4 businesses to Xero from MYOB and not having this feature is creating so much more admin. Please can this be added as a feature asap?

When will this feature be released? It's a must have, crazy to have staff filling out forms and then re-entering them into Xero given the integration that is there from Xero to ATO already.

Very surprising Xero do not have this functionality, given MYOB do and they are usually behind Xero!
Xero had electronic lodgement of TFN forms very early.
Xero has missed the boat on this feature -

Both Quickbook and MYOB has it. I am surprised why this has not been rolled to Xero yet.

Yes - this is a huge time consuming process. MYOB has this option and it is the only thing we really miss. They do their entire onboarding process including TFN, Super etc themselves.
Please don't make this as part of 'XeroMe' though!! -

In addition to this or instead of. Has anyone noticed its very difficult to find the TFN form on ATO webiste to download? The ATO is now asking new employees to complete their TFN and Super details via employee myGov account. Once done, they are given a form for the employer to enter the details into accounting software (so much better than paper forms). The form provides an Event ID and this ID can be used in some softwares to extract the data into accounting software. For me and I think many others, this would be a very good digital trail and integration.
So, can Xero look into this? Refer to attached document which is what the employee receives after doing TFN/super in their myGov and send to employer.

This is very helpful especially in terms of securing personal information. I hope Xero will consider this idea! Add this as a feature to Xero Me app!
