Hi everyone, I want to assure you your voice is heard here and feedback is being shared back with our product teams.
We understand the desire to get this idea moving along and as mentioned in our last update we know this is an area that more controls and permissions would be most beneficial to our customers.
We’d like to share progress that we’re making for banking permissions - Work to provide more controls of sensitive banking information has started and will initially include the ability to restrict users from seeing sensitive banking information such as; account balances, bank transactions, and financial summaries.
We know this doesn’t relieve all pain points of this idea - It’ll be the first phase, a stepping stone of sorts in the development of per-bank controls.
As development continues we’ll share further updates as soon as they’re available with you all here.
Thank you for…

Hey everyone, we've been following the conversation closely and we want to acknowledge how important this is for many of you.
Atm, we’re on a long journey to provide more controls within Xero features that our customers need. Being such a broad idea that touches many areas of our platform, we’d like to encourage adding your votes to specific user permissions that matter most to you, such as:
- Bank Accounts: For more control over who can see bank account balances and access specific accounts, please see the idea here: User Role - Restrict access to individual bank accounts
- Sales and Invoicing: If you’d like to see changes to permissions around sales reporting and editing invoice templates, you can follow that conversation here: User roles: Restrict access to Invoice Settings
- Reports: To have your say on restricting access to specific reports, the relevant idea is here: User permissions - Assign user…

The access options in Xero are terrible. You can add supplier access, but can't tick the reports box. Having come from a MYOB environment where things were very customisable to business needs, its eternally frustrating - I can't even give auditors read only access and review reports without giving them full access. Many people in organisations need differing levels. The options are there, just need to be able to tick them!

Hey everyone, we thank you for the detailed feedback on improving how leave requests work for part-time employees in Australian payroll.
We understand the value of shifting the task of adjusting hours to employees, freeing up payroll administrators’ time for other priorities and we also appreciate the points raised around accuracy and compliance.
While we don’t have current plans to deliver exactly what’s been suggested here, our product team is continuing to focus on developing working patterns within AU Payroll. Based on what we’ve seen in other regions, this'll likely address many of the needs discussed here.
We’ll move this idea to Not in pipeline for now, but we’ll keep you posted on any updates that could help achieve what’s being asked.

I seriously cannot believe this is still an issue. Agree with you Mark, how is this not a daily complaint to Xero. This has been an issue and requested of Xero since the program began and I can see in the Xero community it's asked OVER AND OVER AND OVER with no response from Xero.
It's not just a "would be great to have this function" request, it goes to the basic fundamentals of a legally correct functioning payroll program. Just get on with it and fix it along with calculating leave taken for salary earners. I can't understand why my hourly rate changes just to take leave.

I don't know how many times I have requested this from Xero since its inception.
This shouldn't be determined by a few likes on a product idea page that no one really looks like, this is just VERY BASIC separation of duties and good governance that any piece of accounting software should have been in built from the start. I'd suggest Xero just do it.
