Hi team, we’ve begun rolling out our new Reporting permissions, marking a major shift toward more flexible, configurable roles in Xero.
You’ll soon be able to grant Invoice only Sales or Purchase users access to specific operational reports without exposing access to all of the organisation's reports.
We’re currently in a phased release and expect these changes to be available to all users over the coming weeks.
I’ll swing back again to confirm once these changes are live to all users.

Hi everyone, I want to assure you your voice is heard here and feedback is being shared back with our product teams.
We understand the desire to get this idea moving along and as mentioned in our last update we know this is an area that more controls and permissions would be most beneficial to our customers.
We’d like to share progress that we’re making for banking permissions - Work to provide more controls of sensitive banking information has started and will initially include the ability to restrict users from seeing sensitive banking information such as; account balances, bank transactions, and financial summaries.
We know this doesn’t relieve all pain points of this idea - It’ll be the first phase, a stepping stone of sorts in the development of per-bank controls.
As development continues we’ll share further updates as soon as they’re available with you all here.

Appreciate the idea here - Being transparent, developing granular permissions or roles for every feature and action throughout Xero is not in our plans.
Understanding more of the permission sets majority of users need, will help understand where the biggest impact could be made.
I've slightly adjusted the title to suit the needs of the role you mentioned. We'll get a sense of others that'd like this too.

Hi team, we appreciate wanting more flexibility in expense permissions and that for some businesses a multi-level approval process is necessary.
Though we are continuing to develop Xero expenses to encompass more tools and features our customers are after, we want to be upfront that we don’t have any plans to change expense permissions on our current roadmap.
We will continue to assess your feedback and consider ideas like this as our plans evolve. If there is any change we will share an update.
