Hi everyone, we appreciate you taking the time to share how important more flexible payroll permissions are for your teams.
It's clear that having granular control over who can access different parts of payroll would make a real difference to how you manage timesheets and leave approvals, as well as restrict access to other sensitive areas.
From research, Payroll is definitely an area we know needs more permission controls for varying roles. This is something our product teams are beginning to explore and do deeper research of. We'll keep you updated as we make progress, and we're grateful for your continued input.

I'm excited to share a major update that addresses this feedback directly. At Xerocon in September 2025, we announced a new strategic partnership with BGL, a leader in compliance and practice software. Together, we are building a new, deeply integrated Workpapers solution that will be embedded directly within Xero Practice Manager (XPM) and Xero Tax. This new solution is central to our compliance and practice tools roadmap and is designed to provide a seamless experience, leveraging BGL’s expertise in document management. We are pleased to confirm that the ability to add, rename, and reorder supporting documents is a key feature of this new BGL-powered Workpapers solution. Thanks for the feedback here, everyone. We get how being able to use custom Excel templates for Workpapers could save you time and power up your use of Xero Workpapers.
Currently, you can export Workpapers data to Excel and then copy info into your preferred template. Allowing you to continue using your custom templates for now.
The good news is we're delivering a new Workpapers solution, and our team are exploring how to enable this functionality within this.
We'll post an update as soon as we have any news to share.

As a work around our office imports these numbers into a budget created just for the livestock schedule. The result being you can load that budget column into the reports and have other formulas driven from it. Not perfect but better than using manual data fields in the report.

Hi team, following on from my last update though our position remains that we don't have plans for making all reports available in report templates we wanted to share a recent change we have made.
We have unlocked the ability to add client-specific custom reports to Adviser packs, giving you additional flexibility and more comprehensive reporting, which we know has been a key request for some in the idea here.
As mentioned in our last post - we're very keen to continue to understand the interest in specific reports, so if not already please make sure to add your support or start an idea for a the report you'd like to see. Thanks

Invoice reminders - the "Send replies to..." option under invoice reminders needs to be customisable so that replies are sent to a chosen email address rather than the address of the person who setup the reminders. The existing email settings screen would seem like the logical place for these email addresses to be created it just needs a link between the invoice reminders feature (pick list) and this email settings section.
