Hi community, our reporting team is actively testing how reports are grouped and accessed, and we'd like your feedback to help us design a better report grouping structure that supports role-based access in reporting.
How you can help: Complete a quick 15-min online activity to test how reports are grouped and accessed:
- Part 1: answer questions about the current report grouping
- Part 2: explores a new grouping and role-based report access
👉If you're interested, please use this link to get started.
We greatly appreciate your ongoing support & valuable input for the reporting team!
(If you’ve already taken this activity, there's no need to do it again — our researchers may have contacted you earlier 😊)

I think short of sleeping with the CEO (volunteers?!) then this is never going to happen. Clearly there is a problem with the way the software is constructed that means this is too big a rewrite for Xero. Competitors take note - we may be sleeping with you soon!

Hi community, your ongoing interest in giving users the ability to reconcile without viewing account balances is welcomed.
We understand why this level of bank permission control matters. As recently mentioned in my updates on this idea, while we do have current work for user roles underway there is more complexities to developing permissions within the banking space and this isn't on the immediate roadmap.
As we continue our journey to evolving roles within Xero we'll be sure to share any progress for permissions in bank accounts with you all, here.

It seems that Xero has its priorities wrong. Users are clear that this is a priority. Prettying up the interface isn’t

Why don’t Xero justify their lack of action on this? Is it difficult to program?? Are they short of staff? Don’t they care about their customers? Xero, what is the problem?

Hey everyone, thank you for all your feedback. We’re on a long journey to provide more granular access and controls within Xero features that our customers need.
As you may have seen in some of our recent updates across other user roles ideas we’re currently in the process of adding more permissions within Reporting and Inventory. Further to this our research has highlighted Payroll and Banking as areas that more controls are most needed, and are on our agenda as we continue to develop permissions and access to features.
Your feedback here and through direct engagements with our teams have been extremely insightful, and we appreciate all your inputs.
I'll continue to provide updates on the development of roles for features as we progress.

'Pay Now' shouldn't be displayed on invoices where the customer already has a DD in place as it is confusing, could lead to duplicate payments and cause them to contact us to query whether there is a problem with their DD when they don't need to.

'Pay Now' is so confusing for customers who have set up their direct debit with us already. Having just started with XERO I can foresee that my existing customers will be contacting me in droves to say that they have already set this up. In support conversations I am told that Xero can't tell whether a customer has or has't set up their DD already. But they can - this information is available in settings, so there is a flag in the system. To be honest it's obvious that there has to be a flag, it just needs USING to take this off where a customer already has their DD in place. The function of the invoice is merely to remind the customer of the date and amount of their next payment. This is a pretty fundamental bit of communication with customers and Sage already have this sorted. To summarise: if a customer already has a DD in place, they shouldn't see a 'pay now' button as their payment should already be automated.

I have just logged a poor review on Trustpilot. Comments in here are not responded to and Xero never justifies ignoring this request.
