Hi everyone, thanks for all your feedback and highlighting the need for multi-currency manual journals, and being able to see the FX rate directly in the journal.
We understand the needs in this space have close ties with this idea for being able to journal to bank accounts, and this is something we have intentions of doing deeper discovery around in the longer term. However, we want to be upfront that this work isn't roadmapped right now.
Though we appreciate not the straight forward approach that you’re after here - currently you can create the journal via a bill in the relevant foreign currency. Entering positive and negative lines for the debit and credit entries, which results in a 0.00 bill total once approved. The bill lines are converted to your organisation’s base currency using the bill’s FX rate, and the transaction won’t revalue.

Hey everyone, we know it can be tricky when you're managing lots of client accounts and need a way to easily tell them apart in Xero.
Thanks for your feedback on how a visual cue, like being able to set different colours for each organisation, would help cut down on confusion and those accidental data entries.
We've seen some of you have found workarounds, like using Chrome extensions or third-party Google add-ons for customisation. It's great to see the community finding creative ways to tackle this in the interim.
Right now, adding this feature isn't in our immediate plans. This is something we'll continue to keep an eye on the support for and may reconsider in future planning. I'll share if there are any updates around this here.

This would be very helpful. Sometimes when logging in you don't always end up with the last organisation you were working with, so this would help avoid mistakes. It would of thought this could be quite an easy thing to do, and so a quick win?
