Thanks for all the valuable feedback you’ve shared through this idea. We get how adding Quantity and Unit Price columns to the Account Transactions report would help you with transaction reconciliation, and provide clearer insights, without the need of opening individual transactions.

Being upfront this isn’t in our team’s roadmap, however the idea will remain open for voting. Your input continues to shape our understanding of what’s most important, and we’ll keep sharing your feedback with the product team as they assess and plan for the future.

Hi team, we want to acknowledge your feedback and the needs you’ve expressed for being able to view the transaction line description in the account transactions report.

While we appreciate not the news you’re hoping for here - we want to be honest with you all that there are no plans at this stage to change the behaviour of this report.

We appreciate there can be some confusion of what is shown as it does differ based on the account and the line’s origin. We have added detail within our Xero Central article, but I’ve also noted below for ease of reference.

    • For accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank accounts, and tax account, it shows the contact’s name.
    • For all other accounts, it shows the contact’s name and the item line description.
    • As manual journals don’t have contacts, it shows narration and description.
    • For wage payments, Payroll Employee displays in…

It would be extremely useful if the Account Transactions download included the description that is entered into the invoice posting. Currently the download description is simply the contact name plus the transaction type. Also please can the download also include Quantity. It isn't easy to produce a report that shows sales in a particular unit of measure which covers all transaction types. For example the Receivable Invoice Detail report does show quantities, but this does not include Receive Money transactions (where a sales invoice has not been posted)
