Hi everyone, thank you for continuing to share your feedback on invoice subtotals.
We know this is a feature many of you feel strongly about, and we genuinely appreciate the time you’ve taken to explain the impact on your workflows.
While this idea has been closely considered by our product teams we want to be upfront that at this point we don't have any foreseeable plans for developing the ability to add subtotals in invoices.
As previously shared current options that you may want to explore include;
- adding a description only line for each section where you can reference and explain the subtotals for a section of lines (leaving the Qty & Price blank),
- exporting the invoice as a PDF and editing it externally, or
- exploring invoicing tools in the Xero App Store that offer more extensive services

We've just released a recent improvement to searching contacts where you can now search a contact by any phone, direct dial, mobile or fax number saved in their contact record.
While you won't be able to see a contacts mobile number from the screen, you'll be able to search for a contact by a mobile number that's been saved for them.
We don't have further change planned to add more detail to this screen atm but we'll continue to track the support of the idea here.

Hi team, we appreciate the idea raised here and can understand how this could help with customer visibility and file management. Being open this isn't something we have plans for right now but will continue to keep a pulse on the support for this here and share if there are any plans made.

There is an important legal distinction between a quote and an estimate. A quote can be legally enforced just like an Invoice. It is VERY important to label an estimate an estimate rather than a quote. I'm getting around this by altering the quote template, but there should be an estimate option within the program to avoid a messy legal fight.

Hi everyone, a year on from my last engagement we wanted to provide an update for you all here.
As many will be across we're in the midst of making a lot of iterations and improvements to new invoicing leading up to the retirement of classic invoicing in September (2024).
We have a fair amount of work lined up in the teams schedule over the coming months and to give an indication there isn't any committed plans around a function to add interest to invoices.
That said, we do have a team that have picked up and are considering how we might solve this with the technology in new invoicing - It's early days on this yet, but I'll share if there's any progress on this for you all here.
In the meantime, as has been shared by others over time there are a few ways you could accomplish this…

Another approach might be allowing formatting options within the invoice similar to what was changed in SyncroMSP ticket formatting. Screenshot attached. I do realize this is a huge ask but could be put in line for a future release.

We sometimes produce very lengthy invoices. We also note the date each item was ordered and received on the invoice (some of our jobs can take over a year to finish). Since there is no column for date ordered or received, we note it in the description. Once a product is received from back order, it would be helpful to search in the ticket description name. e.g. "window ***** handle spring". I've attached an example invoice

Appreciate the feedback here. While we don't have plans for adding a button to instantly logout from this inactivity setting we will keep watching interest in this idea grow and share if any changes are planned.

Hi community, we wanted to provide an update as we've been working on development for accepting deposit payments(another highly voted idea).
This week we began rolling out a solution for deposits powered by Stripe to a limited group of users. We know this functionality will also bridge the gap for customers in this idea, and have included anyone that's voted here and is connected to Stripe in this early rollout. We'd love to hear your feedback - You'll receive a banner in your organisation on how to use this feature.

Removing payments on invoices over the course of 2 years' ongoing work would be an issue. To summarize, the feature request would be the ability to edit Invoices with auto sales tax on, and payments are applied to the invoice. We are a Custom Hot Rod shop, and it takes a long time to complete a job.
